ELEX 2 is one of those games that I really wanted to love. As soon as I jumped into its massive open world, I was impressed by how much there was to explore. The mix of sci-fi and fantasy is right up my alley, and getting to fly around with a jetpack is just plain fun 😄. The factions are all interesting too—each one feels unique, with their own tech, beliefs, and reasons for existing. The world-building really drew me in, and I found myself wandering around just to see what kind of weird creatures or hidden quests I could stumble upon.
But as much as I loved the world, I have to admit that the combat drove me nuts 😩 It feels stiff and clunky, and fighting enemies early on is more frustrating than exciting. I’d often find myself struggling just to land a hit or avoid being wiped out by stronger enemies. The controls could definitely use some fine-tuning, which didn’t help matters. Also, the voice acting didn’t always do it for me—some of the dialogue felt a bit flat or awkward 😕
Still, the jetpack is a total game-changer. I’ve played plenty of open-world games, but being able to launch myself into the air and explore vertically added a whole new layer. It’s one of the things that kept me coming back, even when the game’s rough edges started to wear on me 😅 The world of ELEX 2 is so intriguing that, despite its flaws, I wanted to keep exploring, discovering more of its secrets and getting involved in the faction politics.
Overall, ELEX 2 is a flawed but fascinating RPG. It’s not perfect, but if you’re like me and love a big, weird world to explore, it’s worth checking out 👍
In this open world RPG game where you accompany the character trying to find his son on a post-apocalyptic themed planet; While exploring the environment using the jetpack on your back, you also fight against various monsters both on the ground and in the air by using dozens of close and long-range weapons. In addition to the monsters, you also encounter many NPC characters, and as you interact with them, you can influence the course of the story by making choices. A successful sequel, you can give it a chance if you like the genre.
Forget history lessons, we’re talking about the stuff that matters: guns, lasers, brawls, and of course, blowing up anything that moves! Are you ready to dive into a post-apocalyptic universe where factions fight for control of polluted territories and where bizarre creatures abound? Then, suit up, grab your favorite weapon, and get ready for an unforgettable journey into the world of “ELEX 2”! where we might just save the world, who knows?
As for the game’s story, our protagonist Jax finds himself confronted with the Skyanids threat, a bellicose alien race that has come to invade Magalan, as usual. This invasion plunges the world into chaos, and factions once again divide. Our hero, determined to protect his family and his world, embarks on a journey to repel the invaders and unite the free peoples of the middle earth, uh, I mean Magalan (the other one is in Lord Of The Rings). His journey will take him through wild lands, meeting colorful characters and dangerous creatures. He will have to make difficult choices that will influence the fate of Magalan and its inhabitants.
The game offers a vast and rich open world to explore, filled with quests, secrets, and dangers. Where you are free to move around as you please and discover the world at your own pace. Combat in “ELEX 2” is fluid and dynamic. You can use a variety of weapons and skills to defeat your enemies. The game also features a complex progression system that allows you to customize your character according to their play style.
“ELEX 2” is not just an action-adventure game, it’s also a complete RPG that offers you an immersive experience. The game features a complex progression system that allows you to customize your character according to your play style. You can choose to specialize in combat, magic, or technology. Each class has its own strengths and weaknesses, it’s up to you to find the one that suits you best.
The game also features a choice and consequence system that allows you to influence the course of the story. Your decisions will have an impact on the world and the characters who inhabit it.
From a visual standpoint, “ELEX 2” doesn’t stand out, even for a game released in 2022, but it still offers a solid and consistent visual presentation with its post-apocalyptic universe. The environments are varied and detailed, and the lighting and particle effects are well done. The character design is somewhat uneven, with some characters lacking finesse, but it doesn’t detract from the overall experience. The Sound Design is also well done.
Like most games, “ELEX 2” is not without its flaws. The main drawback of the game is undoubtedly its graphics, dating back to 2022 and not meeting current standards. The gameplay may also deter some players, with its punishing combat system and high difficulty. Furthermore, the story and side quests sometimes lack depth and interest. Add to that some bugs and technical issues.
However, even with these negative points, “ELEX 2” still remains an enjoyable game. So, if you’re looking for an immersive gaming experience with a vast post-apocalyptic world to explore, this game might be for you.
I’m having a lot of fun with my copy of this game and I’ve been playing it on several occasions on stream. I wish more people knew about this game. It’s a nice single player game that has me coming back for more. I cant wait to go get some good gear, some levels and see what all is out there in this massive open world.
