I found Len’s Island to be very lonely and monotonous before the co-op mode. At the same time, however, it was also very cozy and reassuring in terms of collecting and building. The combat was also very challenging and unfortunately often frustrating when you lost your inventory somewhere in the dungeon.
Now it’s a super enjoyable game in co-op, it’s improved immensely from Early Access. It’s much more entertaining to finally be able to play with friends and no longer feel alone and like the last survivor. Now the work can be split up, everyone can do what they want to do most without neglecting anything.
In general, the gaming experience has changed immensely for me personally! Building is still a lot of fun, as is collecting, exploring invites you to go beyond the seas to find new islands and discover new materials, enemies and biomes.
I highly recommend everyone to try the game, especially with friends. It’s a lot of fun, and can be both apologetic and challenging. It is up to you how you design your gaming experience.
Len’s Island. There are more than 1 island, and I have no idea where Len is and which island is his. The game on the other hand is fantastic.
The farming is easy. The harvesting feels satisfying. You can tame a tiger and red panda. The enemies you fight bring a sense of growing dread, the more of them that spawn. The fights feel erratic, hasty, satisfying and effective. Especially when you have attached a few weapon enhancements, especially the lightning enhancement.
An easy game that will have you spend 30 hours to finish the game, and then another 20 to complete all the achiements.
An extremely relaxing and very satisfying game I must say, it is perfect for those players who are just looking for a relaxing adventure in an interesting world, build your house, plant and harvest your crops, fight enemies in huge and well designed dungeons to get resources and minerals. The game has a very solid foundation and I was impressed with the quality of the game right now considering how small the dev team is. It can be a very relaxing game if you just want to farm and build and can also be a more serious survival game if you choose to enter the dungeon beneath the island.
While in the menu, you select your map, create your character and start the game. It is a simple and comfortable game with smooth gameplay. Not very detailed, but at a satisfactory level. The fighting and mechanics, animations and movements are well-established. The controls are comfortable, but the lack of key assignment and change is bad. It would be better if it had joystick support. It’s survival themed, you only have hunger and health bar. For some reason, although my hunger was sometimes at zero, I never died or even lost health. Weapons have unique Skill hits. It can be improved further. It would be better if it had multi co-op or online features.
The craft system is nice. You can make both weapons and construction by collecting materials such as ore or wood. You can build a stove, bench, greenhouse, and a nice detailed house of 2 or 3 floors. You can carry a limited number and amount of materials, but you can use them constantly. There is no such thing as breaking or redoing. In addition, you can repair bridges or roads in order to move to some areas on the familiar map from some games, progress or buy materials and develop.
The game also has a money system and you can buy various weapons and materials. It would be better if it had missions. There is no map that you can open and look at. It would be nice to at least have a mini map in one corner of the screen.
It is a very good game with its gameplay, graphics, sound, music and simple features. It has a clear and simple structure and features. It is truly a game that could become very successful over time.
Alright, a little anecdote before starting the review. Did you know that Len’s Island was created by a team of two developers after a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2017? The game finally came to life in 2021 and has been continuously improving with new updates. In fact, the latest update, named ‘Harvest Moon,’ was released just two weeks ago, possibly a nod to the game franchise of the same name. Who knows.
Len’s Island caters to all types of players, whether you’re a fan of building, survival, crafting, or exploring islands and dungeons. You can complete quests for the inhabitants of Len’s Island or pursue your own goals. Building a house, expanding a farm, exploring forests, or unraveling the mystery and treasures that abound in the world of Len’s Island.
Len’s Island offers a charming and captivating visual aesthetic. The graphics adopt a colorful and animated style, creating a visually appealing world. Meticulous details in environments, characters, and interactive elements add an immersive dimension to the gaming experience. The textures are well-crafted, and the use of vibrant colors contributes to a lively atmosphere on Len’s Island. The diversity of landscapes in the game is impressive. From sunny beaches to lush forests and mysterious caves, each area has its own visual identity. Smooth transitions between these environments provide a dynamic visual experience and avoid monotony.
In terms of gameplay, the game offers a fluid experience, as smooth as the movement of a feather carried by the wind. Controls are elegantly simple, providing accessibility without compromising on gameplay depth. The combat system is a strategic dance, where every move counts. Resource and health management are finely balanced, adding a layer of strategic thinking to the adventure. Smart use of the environment to solve puzzles adds a creative dimension. In summary, Len’s Island is a well-orchestrated symphony of carefully designed game mechanics, inviting players to explore and master its enchanting world.
The interaction of the character with NPCs in Len’s Island is a fascinating aspect of the game. Each non-player character has its own personality, unique quests, and story to share. Player choices directly influence how these characters react, creating a truly personalized experience. Whether you decide to help a villager with their daily tasks or participate in community events, each interaction shapes how you are perceived in the game world. These dynamic relationships add significant depth to the experience, transforming Len’s Island into more than just a survival adventure but into a virtual community to explore and appreciate.
Len’s Island is more than just a game; it’s a dynamically expanding world, ready to be explored and enjoyed by fans of immersive adventures. Even in Early Access, it already promises a memorable experience.
I like this game because it’s not standard. There is nothing ingame that stresses me (no time focused mechanics, no forced fights, etc.). For me it’s more like a game to relax.
This game let’s you play your own style. At your own speed. You can focus on your own home and build nearly everything you can imagine. Or explore the Island. Do Quests. Take care of the Town.
Step by step the Devs are adding content to the game. They are very active and transparent on Discord.
We are facing another game of farms and construction, but this is not bad since it integrates a large amount of content that gives many, really many hours of gameplay. Among the strongest aspects, the game simple in terms of its mechanics and very player friendly at the beginning. But don’t be mistaken, the more you go into the game, the more difficulties you find, making the end game not boring.
Although there are some things to improve, such as the controls, it is easy to adapt to them. It must be understood that being in Early Access there are things to be expected and that they do not detract from the game but rather, on the contrary, they let us see the great potential that the game has. Len’s Island is without a doubt a pleasant surprise of a game that must be played.
This game is almost an all rounder. If you are more in a chill play, you can just gather resources, build and take care of your crops. If you are into adventure, just go to a dungeon and enjoy the challenge.
The game world expands as you play it and it is a very beautiful game with a wonderful soundtrack.
The developers listen to the community and they adapt a lot of the content of the game based on feedback from players.
A very good game, that isn’t more of a success because it still doesn’t have coop.
