Cozy Survival Game ‘Solarpunk’ Takes Fishing to the Next Level

Fish valuable loot and clean lakes.

Cyberwave introduced a fan-requested item among many changes to their upcoming relaxing sky island survival game Solarpunk. They gave a new lick of paint to UIs, adding new features and more.

The fishing rod is a new feature that has been added as a result of popular demand. This magnet fishing rod will not be used to catch fish as a fishing rod normally does, with this one, you can pull up trash from the ponds around the floating islands. Not only that, this also allows players to catch valuable loot like quartz that you can use to craft other items.

The chickens have been given a massive update, they will no longer just stand there and do nothing as they have been given a new walking animation, and when you lay some wheat on the ground they will come over and eat it, making it easy to relocate them, as long as you got enough wheat. At night, the chickens will hide in nearby shelters, and when it rains, they will run for cover.

The user interface has been improved and given a new look, making it more user-friendly. The player inventory, chest inventory, research table, crafting table, main menu, and airship dock have all been updated as well.

A big game logic change has been made that many survival games can learn from. When a campfire or plant box is covered by a roof the water will not get to it. The same happens with rain collectors, so make sure not to cover them with a roof or it won’t be collecting anything.

Walking through the rivers or any body of water will now slow the player down, and when you eat something wrong your hunger bar will decrease instead of going up. The sound effects have been enhanced to create a more immersive atmosphere, with sounds like rustling leaves and sizzling ovens.

Are you happy with the way they added in fishing? Let me know in the comments.
