We got a huge news drop from Nuggets Entertainment as they revealed plenty of new details and a time frame for the closed alpha for their upcoming farming game, Among the Wild.
The game will feature procedurally generated worlds. Over the last few months, the developers have been working hard at making improvements to their systems and getting features into place that give them more control over the generation process. This new terrain generation takes into account neighboring biomes, which will result in a more natural transition between them. For example, like in Minecraft, hot biomes like a desert and jungle have a bigger chance of spawning next to one another than a desert and snow biome. This adds a bit more realism to the game. The new system also allows them to more easily implement sub-biomes and points of interest that can only be found in specific regions.

Do you remember that cozy farming game we revealed last month? The developers of Among the Wild are back with some fresh details about the game's open world, seasons, creature trading, building, and more.#amongthewild @AmongTheNuggets pic.twitter.com/M97jSqM899
A big addition to the game is the introduction of seasons. These will not only impact the environment by adding a layer of snow during winter, or changing the color of leaves while it is fall, but some crops will only grow during specific times of year. As of right now, they have the basic systems in place, which means spring and summer look very similar, autumn has a color change, and winter adds a thick layer of snow.
Nuggets Entertainment wanted to add more ways for players to generate money in the game. They came up with the method of selling creatures. Now you can buy creatures, take care of them, and sell them later for a profit, or capture them in the wild and trade them for some cash. This is a great way of getting rid of your unwanted animals without letting them fend for themselves in the wilderness.

Among The Wild offers a free-form building system that allows you to freely rotate any building piece. After you place your first wall or foundation, you can easily snap the rest to it. This gives you a lot of control over the position and removes the tediousness of having to precisely place every structure. Since you are not restricted to a grid, you can build however and wherever you please.
These were the main features the developers wanted to get done before they sent out the closed alpha keys. They announced that people who signed up for alpha testing have a chance to receive access in late November. However, currently, they are not sure if they want to keep the player base to a small number or add more waves over time. So if you are interested, make sure you sign up for the closed alpha on their website.
Are you planning to join the upcoming test? Let me know in the comments.
