Abiotic Factor Launches into 1.0 and Introduces the New Home World Realms

You don't have to live in the labs anymore.

It’s been over a year since the Early Access release, and Abiotic Factor has finally launched into 1.0 alongside the long-awaited Cold Fusion update. One of the key features introduced in 1.0 is Home Worlds, which are cozy portal realms that give players a space of their own, far from the high-pressure environment of the GATE Cascade Research Facility.

In a Home World, time moves as usual and you can build, craft, cook, and grow plants just like in any other base‑building area. These new portal realms offer a generous amount of open terrain for your creations. While each world differs, most include a designated building spot that serves as a natural home base.

Some Home Worlds come stocked with their own unique furniture which you can pack up and bring back to the facility. There are no weapons hiding in these places, though you might find new varieties of fish. Beyond that, you can furnish the space however you like using items you’ve collected elsewhere, making each Home World truly your own.

Abiotic Factor Torii homeworld

At 1.0 launch, the only Home World available is the Torii Home World, included in the Supporter’s Edition. Early access players will find the Torii realm added to their Steam libraries, free of charge. Players who joined later may need to purchase the Supporter’s Edition to unlock this serene location.

You can reach your Home World through a new teleportation hub in the Office Plaza. This hub opens up in one of the plaza wings when you start version 1.0, and it’s designed to be one of the first locations you can visit. If you prefer, you can also build your own portal network later to hop back and forth with ease.

Home Worlds follow the same reset rules as normal portal worlds, so their few items and resources will replenish over time. Traveling traders may occasionally drop by, adding a dash of surprise to your peaceful refuge. While hostile creatures cannot attack your base directly, these worlds remain part of the portal ecosystem and may still host wandering monsters in surrounding areas.

Cosmetic items tie into Home Worlds as well. The Supporter’s Edition bundles both the Torii Home World and special outfits, and it’s likely future Home Worlds will follow a similar pattern. Some players have joked about finding the perfect suit for their new study, and the developers seem open to the idea.

For those who run dedicated servers, Home Worlds are easy to share. Server admins simply approve which Home Worlds are available based on what the host owns. This ensures friends and guildmates can decorate and explore together without extra hurdles.

Abiotic Factor may have left the Early Access phase, but the developers have revealed that the journey is not ending here, and they plan to bring more content to the base game along with new Home World locations.
