I think this is a really good game that’s a bit overpriced. But otherwise I recommend this game. The building mechanic is smooth the management of your city is cohesive and works well. The idea is really interesting and the management and gameplay style is really addictive and well thought out.
It was actually harder for me to find something bad to say about the game when I was punched in the face with so much quality but I had to do my due diligence and came up with what I came up with.
Yes I recommend, it’s a great little city builder game and it’s definitely worth your time. I can’t wait to see what it’ll be like in it’s full release but perhaps until then, wait for a discount. Otherwise the game was pretty all around great.
I wasn’t sure what I was getting into when I started Airborne Empire. City-builders can be hit or miss for me, but the idea of constructing a civilization in the sky immediately grabbed my attention. What surprised me most was how quickly I became attached to my floating kingdom. It’s not just about placing buildings; it’s about maintaining balance, dealing with politics, managing resources, and keeping everyone on your city satisfied. Everything you expand or adjust has consequences, and that makes every decision feel meaningful.
The early game drew me in fast. You start with a small drifting platform and watching it evolve is genuinely satisfying. Every new section you add, whether it’s a housing block or a research wing, forces you to think about weight, tilt, lift, and propulsion. I loved the constant push and pull between making the city look impressive and keeping it physically stable. It’s a unique mechanic that adds a layer of tension I didn’t expect in a city-builder.
Exploration is another strong part of the experience. Drifting across different regions, meeting new factions, and uncovering ancient ruins makes the world feel alive. Each area has its own vibe and challenges, and the factions actually matter. Helping them, earning their trust, and unlocking new technologies feels like natural progression rather than a checklist.
That said, the game isn’t flawless. Resource management can feel a bit too micro-heavy at times, and there are phases where pacing slows down more than it should. Occasionally you’ll find yourself waiting around for one specific requirement to finish or a resource to build up. Even then, the atmosphere and visuals keep the downtime from becoming too annoying.
By the time my city became a sprawling airborne metropolis, I realized I was completely invested. Airborne Empire blends strategy, exploration, and creativity in a way that feels fresh. Even with a few rough spots, it delivers a memorable experience. If you enjoy city-builders with unique mechanics or just want something different from the usual formula, this one is absolutely worth diving into.
We have a flying city. While traveling with city, also build and expand flying city, and while doing this, you collect the resources you need from the surroundings and add new friends from the settlements (new city population…). While doing these, air pirates with planes bother you and you defend yourself with your own defense system. Basically, the game atmosphere and music are really good, but after a while it seems like it gets a little repetitive. If you want to chill a little and enjoy the game in a comfortable environment without getting too stressed, it’s definitely an experience you should try.
