    Good Idea, Uneven Execution

I played Atlas Fallen after getting it through Humble Choice, and my experience with it was mostly positive but never truly memorable. It’s a game I enjoyed in short sessions, but I rarely felt pulled to keep playing for hours at a time.

Movement is easily the best part. Surfing across the sand feels smooth and fast, and once you unlock more traversal abilities, getting around the world becomes genuinely enjoyable. Combat also starts off strong. Building momentum, dodging at the right time, and releasing abilities feels satisfying, especially in tougher fights. I experimented with different Essence Stones and armor setups, and after the Reign of Sand overhaul, progression felt much clearer and less punishing than it likely was at launch.

That said, the game starts to feel repetitive fairly quickly. Enemy variety is limited, and after several hours I was fighting the same enemies with slightly different patterns. Boss fights look impressive at first, but mechanically they don’t evolve much. The world itself suffers from the same issue. While the desert environments look nice, they begin to blend together, and exploration rarely felt rewarding enough to justify going off the main path later in the game.

The story didn’t grab me at all. I followed what was happening, but I never felt invested in the characters or the world. Dialogue often feels stiff, and emotional moments don’t really land. By the end, I was finishing the story more out of completion than curiosity.

Overall, Atlas Fallen feels like a decent AA action RPG that benefited a lot from the Reign of Sand overhaul but still falls short of its potential. As a Humble Choice pickup, it felt worth my time. At full price, I would have been disappointed.

    • Pros
    • Combat system is the best in this game
    • Abilities customization is great
    • You can personalize your combat style
    • A lot of activities to do with 4 main maps
    • Exploration is enjoyable
    • Cons
    • Story and voiceovers not so good
    • Combat visuals lack of decent effects
    • Weak weapon selection
    • Perfomance issues

I have had my eyes for a long time in Atlas Fallen and I can say that exploration, combat system and skill and armor upgrades are the most powerful aspects in this game and if you like this, you will like this game.
Other than that everything else like music, storyline, voiceovers, character creation is not THAT great.
Game movement is fun and the gameplay in general is decent enough that you can play it with ease.
The bosses and the monsters are a great aspect too!! I personally liked that and that’s one more reason it can keep your interest up.
With that being said the game overall is playable and fun most of the time with a few hiccups.
So if you can ignore the hiccups you will have fun 🙂
