It’s a great game, definitely fun to play with friends and get a strategy to kill Bigfoot. But biggest issue is once you play it once and kill Bigfoot it’s not the same doing it again. Cool idea.
Bigfoot sounds like a great idea on paper, hunting down a legendary beast in the deep, dark woods with your friends? Count me in! The eerie atmosphere, dense forests, and creepy sounds set the stage for a tense survival horror experience. At first, sneaking around, setting traps, and trying to track the creature feels exciting. You’re constantly on edge, scanning the trees, listening for every twig snap, and waiting for Bigfoot to strike. It should be terrifying… but the cracks start to show pretty quickly.
First off, Bigfoot himself is way too strong. This dude isn’t just a cryptid, he’s basically an unstoppable tank. No matter how many bullets you pump into him, he just keeps coming, smashing players like ragdolls. At times, it feels less like hunting and more like a slow, inevitable loss. The balance is all over the place, making each encounter more frustrating than thrilling.
Sometimes Bigfoot acts like a horror movie genius, flanking, ambushing, and outsmarting the players in ways that feel unfair, other times, he’ll just wander aimlessly or get stuck on a rock. It’s wildly inconsistent, which makes the tension hit-or-miss.
Exploration is okay, but the map can feel empty and repetitive. You find the same types of cabins, loot, and clues scattered around, but there’s not much variety…. Once you’ve seen one map, you’ve kinda seen them all :/ The guns and equipment feel weak, and since Bigfoot is such a damage sponge, it often feels like you’re just delaying the inevitable rather than actually hunting him.
Overall, Bigfoot is fun for a short while, especially with friends, but it runs out of steam fast. The idea is great, and there are some cool moments, but the gameplay just isn’t balanced or deep enough to keep you hooked…. It’s more frustrating than frightening, and after a few rounds, you’ve basically seen everything it has to offer
The Bigfoot, that enigmatic hairy giant of the forests, is like the mysterious neighbor no one has ever seen, but about whom everyone claims to have heard, except for our protagonists (yes, unlucky for them), they have indeed encountered it, the poor things. In our case, BIGFOOT is a multiplayer adventure game that takes place when tourists have disappeared in the National Park. The police think it’s an accident, but you disagree and decide, with your group, to go in search of Bigfoot, who you and your friends believe is responsible. You must then hunt the creature in a realistic environment with sophisticated artificial intelligence.
The game offers a clever mix of survival, action, and mystery, all wrapped in an atmosphere of fear and suspense. But the real genius lies in the team play, where you and your friends must collaborate to track down Bigfoot.
Bigfoot itself is a formidable adversary, capable of appearing out of nowhere to give you a good dose of adrenaline. The artificial intelligence of Bigfoot is surprising, making it even more formidable. Each game is a unique adventure because you must collect evidence, clues, and maybe even track down Bigfoot. If you’ve ever dreamed of going on a legendary monster hunt, this is your chance.
BIGFOOT is an ideal game for evenings with friends, where laughter and screams abound in every corner of the forest. Even though it has been in early access since 2017, the game continues to receive regular updates, with the latest one being just a day ago. This shows the developers’ commitment to improving and expanding the gaming experience. So, gather your team, prepare your cameras, and dive into the BIGFOOT adventure. You never know what awaits you behind each tree, and that’s what makes this game so exciting!
Worth a play if your into being scared.
The game is an amazing grab for $20 if you have a group of friends to play with. There is no que for the lobby system which is a downside for consistent player basis. The A.I. targeting system should lean towards a “bloodlust” option where bigfoot will attempt to break down doors and enter the safe space instead of changing targets to other hunters that step outside. An inventory loadout or item change/testing would be great to see the damage numbers and learn the effects of tools before heading into a lobby. Additional playable characters or factions/styles would implement a change in playstyle (hunters, trappers, vigilantes/local militia, forest rangers/survivalists) Potential additional content regarding Cryptids could allow for new experiences but may alter the initial layout of the game. Maybe a change in surroundings, ambient sounds, audio caches, and bigfoot skins would fulfill the desire to hunt a wendigo, el chupacabra, vampires, etc. Weapon attachments can add more control and a personalized fighting experience (removing the rifle scope in order to use iron sights, adding a stability brace to the M4, or using fireworks to create incendiary shotgun shells).
While the day and night changes at a very nice pace, there is no significant penalty for traveling between POI’s that would make the game more challenging, such as a cold/frostbite mechanic, etc. At first playthrough, the game is incredibly suspenseful and intense, however, as with most games, once you diagnose the AI’s mechanics (what it will and won’t do) the game does lose some of its intensity.
Multiple maps give it some replay-ability, as well as increasing difficulty levels help to keep players engaged, the game is also suited for Player controlled Bigfoot which has its own level of skill and challenge associated. Overall, the game is a great experience, however it is lacking in story/background. There is a camera and some basic investigative prompts, however they seem to have no overall value to the player, when the player can simply grab a few guns and begin the hunt.
I would love to see some secondary goals within the game, such as “snap a photo of bigfoot” or “find all the missing hikers before killing bigfoot”. Possibly leading to profile progression with mission completion. The addition of other cryptids and possible a deductive investigation into which cryptid is in the wilderness would be nice, but perhaps that’s too far.
Overall, the game was enjoyable and visually appealing, however I had a tough loading it back up after having defeated AI bigfoot on each map. It is very well researched to Sasquatch behavior and feels great when playing.
