I spent some time with Coreborn: Nations of the Ultracore and it feels like a co-op survival game with a good idea behind it but mixed execution. Building a town, gathering resources, and working together with others to defend your settlement is the main loop, and it can be fun when everything clicks. I liked the community focus and the idea of rebuilding in a shared world.
But after a while, the gameplay starts to feel repetitive and a bit shallow. Combat is basic, progression feels slow, and the world doesn’t always feel as alive as it should. It has some interesting systems, but it still needs more depth and polish to really stand out.
I enojyed playing the game with friends and do wish that I’d have more time to unravel the beautifully crafted world and unlock all the fun things that are in the game to explore. Unfortunately, there is no native controller support, which is a bit of a bummer. All in all, it’s a nice game with a lot of potential!
I liked the game, but I got the feeling that it was too half-baked and that the designers were going for effect. The tutorial is too sparse and the game quickly becomes repetitive.
