Cozy Farming Game ‘Among the Wild’ Revamps Island Biomes and Brings Exciting Changes to Creatures

500 players have been invited to the alpha test, and more are on the way!

After a few months of quiet development, Nuggets Entertainment, the team behind Among the Wild, has released a new alpha update that overhauls the open world’s visuals and introduces new systems to the game. To gather more player feedback, they’ve also randomly invited a few hundred new alpha testers.

Among the Wild takes place on a vibrant island where players can raise creatures, build their cozy farm and explore a nearby town. The latest update gives all island biomes a fresh visual overhaul, adding lush scenery, enhanced lighting, and even a brand-new biome to explore. The town has also been revamped with new buildings and a more refined layout. Creature systems have been overhauled, too, with each critter gaining new traits, needs and behaviors designed to keep play engaging without feeling tiresome.

Several new systems have been added for even more variety. A fishing prototype lets players cast lines in serene lakes, and a mailbox now delivers messages from townsfolk. A town rank and reputation system rewards quests and tasks by improving store offerings. Trees and rocks now break into satisfying pieces when chopped or mined. Weather effects sweep across the island, adding both beauty and challenge. The narrative has been sharpened as well, with characters and quests updated to give the story greater purpose and cohesion.

The developers revealed that player feedback about in-game goals and pacing led to clearer objectives without sacrificing freedom. The user interface has received a thorough facelift, including easier‑to‑read creature moods and better ways to track progress. While some older content was removed to streamline the experience, more quests have been added. On the technical side, the update introduces cloud save support and lays groundwork for saves that carry forward into future versions, though old saves will need a fresh start for now.

The team behind Among the Wild is planning to invite more players to the closed alpha test in the coming months, and you can sign up for it on their website for a chance to gain access.
