Dying Light 2 Brings Exciting Features in a Major Community Update

Over 10,000 ideas have been shared by the fans.

Techland released the third of many community voted updates for their parkour zombie game Dying Light 2. The team got over 10,000 ideas submitted by fans, they added as many as they could and stated this would be one of many community driven updates. The update gave us amazing additions like a weapon repair and scrap system, a new weapon tier, boosts to charms, new combat moves, and a huge GRE change.

People wanted to see more used for the crafts master in the world, so the devs added the ability to repair your weapons in exchange for crafting resources and money when talking to them. Enemies now drop weapons after being defeated that can now be dismantled on the fly for some extra resources.

A new, rare weapon tier called “Exotic” has been added, these weapons come with unique attachments. These modifications can be effects like dealing extra damage if you hit zombies in the head. Exotic weapons are distinguished by their crimson red glow.

Some charms have got a boost to their states like the Korek’s Charm has been reworked and now provides increased damage when your weapon is at 15% or less durability or the Dying Laugh which allows you to deal 4% more damage when equipped.

These small items are not the only things that have gotten a rework. A much requested feature is the ability to get a rematch with the GRE Anomaly. Now you can! You can activate the encounter again by interacting with a panel in the area. This will include the GRE Aberration that makes enemies stronger for a greater challenge.

Three new enemy variants have been added, including the armored and electric viral, and the electric biter.

This update introduces Finishers, which are brutal executions you can perform on enemies when they are stunned.

Completing the carrier quest will now reward you with “Carrier” and “Carrier Leader” outfits.

The new sorting options will make it easier to navigate through the items in your personal stash.

In addition to this update, part two of the Halloween event went live. You can obtain the Nightmare Claw Blueprint by participating. The event will run until November 16th.

What do you think the developers need to add to the game? Let me know in the comments.
