It was early Christmas for fans of the open-world survival game Dysmantle. Developers 10Tons have released a substantial free base building update alongside the Underworld DLC that adds a big underground world and more to the game.

Building your own home

Update #24 added a small new island on the northern side of the main island called Tabula Rasa. When exploring this location you can start a new quest line that will walk you through the basics of building. By completing more quests on the island you will unlock new walls, floors, and other recipes to construct your house with. Building your base will only be possible on Tabula Rasa. When building keep in mind that there is a build limit. Planters have been added so you can farm inside. A new item has been added called a home portal, This object is obtained by completing one of the quests on the island. Once you have obtained the home portal you can teleport easily between Tabula Rasa and the main island.

Underworld DLC

The underworld DLC is Dysmantle’s first expansion that adds a vast underground area to the world.

To access the new content you have to leave the starting area, once you do you will get a new quest showing you the way to the underworld. There are new quests and mysteries to complete and solve down here. You can craft new items and weapons like the crossbow and sawed-off shotgun to take down the new enemies that lurk in the depths below the land.

While exploring the underworld you will find campfires, once you light these fires you can use them to fast travel between them. With the DLC you will also have access to more building types as well as a bigger building limit. Farming food has never been easier, you can now obtain a new enhanced seed bag giving you the possibility to put down seeds in a 3×3 grid.
