Challenging open-world survival game, Survival: Fountain of Youth, developed by Odinsoft Inc, is getting its early access release on Steam in less than a week. Will you uncover an ancient civilization and discover the secret to eternal youth?

The game’s story is based on a real-life historical event set in the Caribbean Islands. It follows a member of Juan Ponce de Leon’s expedition to find the fountain of youth, who accidentally found Florida in the 16th century. Unlike the real event, you wash up on the shore of a set of islands after a shipwreck. While exploring the harsh islands, you find traces of an ancient civilization. Your goal is to find your crew and discover what happened to them, uncover the fate of the extinct civilization by exploring the ruins and temples scattered around the islands, and solve the centuries-old puzzles to find the fountain of youth you were looking for.

What to expect from the early access launch

Almost everything on the islands wants to kill you, from wildlife to the sun’s heat. This game will test your ability to survive. There are two regions, with over 15 unique islands to discover, each with its own climate, fauna, and flora. You will be exploring tropical beaches, malaria-infested swamps, and even a bustling underwater biome surrounding the reefs and shipwrecks. Each island has its own mystery to solve and unique loot to discover.

To travel between islands, you need to build your own ship. There will be a variety of boats to build, from a small raft to a 16th-century Spanish schooner.

Crafting is a huge part of the survival genre, and this game delivers. Create hundreds of items, from the most basic stone axe to a musket or other advanced tools. Materials can be crafted in various workshops like leather dryers or pre-industrial era machines.

You can place all these workshops in your own house. You get to build it from the ground up and furnish it with the different decorations that are available.

The game has a variety of skills to train by performing different actions like cooking, shooting, skinning, and more.

What comes during the early access

The developers expect the game to stay in early access for at least a full year.

In this time, we can look forward to many new additions. Three new regions with many different islands with different animals, resources, puzzles, and points of interest, including new blueprints for craftable items and machines will be added. The story of finding the fountain of youth will be fully finished.
