Far From Home, the developer of the upcoming first-person action survival game Forevever Skies has released the extended gameplay trailer and revealed more details about the game.
In Forever Skies, you take on the role of a lone scientist who returns to the destroyed planet Earth and seeks to understand what caused the global catastrophe.
As a scientist, you can use a variety of high-tech tools to complete your mission. Let’s take a look at some of the tools and in-game mechanics that are revealed in the trailer.
Materialize, Build and Repair
The Hand Extractor allows you to breakdown materials such as metal, glass, synthetic material and others down to a molecular level. Then you can repurpose the materials into useful items that can be used in survival, building, and repairing the airship.
The Build Tool enables you to create entire rooms, decorate them with a variety of furniture and invaluable technology to create your own flying base.
After the global catastrophe, the climate on Earth is hazardous. Unpredictable storms, toxic environments, and other factors can cause unexpected damage. The Repair Tool will come in handy when you need to take care of your airship or equipment in difficult situations.
Scan the Environment
The Scan Tool is very useful. It allows extracting data from abandoned terminals, reverse engineering old technology, identifying different types of materials, and solving puzzles.
It can also provide you with important information on what food or water that you can find in the world is safe enough to consume.
The Core Game Mechanic and the Dust
As stated by Far From Home, “A core mechanic of Forever Skies will be collecting virus samples, modifying them to create different pathogens with different effects. By scanning the terminal, the lone scientist discovers what kind of sample it is and its location under the dust.”
However, it won’t be simple to get under the toxic Dust. It will cause high damage to your airship if you try to pass it. You will need to find lift locations to reach hazardous surface levels on foot.
Traveling below the Dust will bring you to the earth’s surface which has changed throughout the years after the global disaster.
There is not much revealed what players will find down there, but developers mentioned that a strange new world is filled with evolved fauna, flora, and new microorganisms.
What do you think about Forever Skies so far? How do you like the new trailer?
