    Generation Zero: A Short Review
    6
    • Pros
    • Great open world
    • Robots
    • Fun coop gameplay
    • Good survival mechanics
    • Lots of loot and gear variety
    • Cons
    • Story is not that good
    • Repetitive missions
    • Some bugs and glitches
    • Not much character progression
    • Can feel grindy

Generation Zero is a unique survival shooter that puts you in a world where robots have taken over. You can explore empty towns, forests, and farmlands while scavenging for gear and trying to survive against mechanical enemies. The atmosphere is really good it’s both calm and creepy at the same time, with great lighting and music that fits perfectly. Combat is tense and exciting, especially when you’re sneaking around or fighting alongside friends. It’s not perfect by any means, but it’s a cool and unique game if you like exploring and fighting robots.

When you first start the game, loot comes out from everywhere, plenty of ammo, weapons and equipment are given. I was bored, I said, my inventory is full, what nonsense is this, while I was thinking, apart from the main and side quests, you start encountering robots that you come across on the streets, mountains and slopes and all those loot are halved at once. You collect them as loot again and complete some of the corpses. The game didn’t seem very challenging to me at first. Until you get to the upper part of the map.
When you get to this part, new weapons, grenades, weapon equipment, explosives and eye-catching items for robots etc. a ton of new materials appear. There are small robots that jump and come at you, I call them little devils because they make a sound that makes you nervous and when you turn the corner, they jump and tear your clothes, and they always turn on red lights, ready for war mode account. These little devils can now be inside some houses in the new map. So if you want to go into the house, do some loot, watch two views and leave, there is no such thing as free bread. There are many types of robots, there is a yellow one that is a little bigger than a dog, that is the simplest. Then there is the robot that I call a military type, it is green, they are strong and shoot snipers. If it stays still for a second or two, you can tell that it will test you. Then there are two types of bipedal robots, I have seen them so far and when they see you, they come running, that fear already pins you to the spot. And there is the biggest robot, I just met it, I couldn’t take it down yet, it is out of ammo. These also fire missiles into the air, rise up and dive to your location, they deal very good area damage, you have to be sober. They are also very strong and drink your HP like water.
I mean, at first I got bored of the game, it was always the same things, loot, travel, enter houses, rob vehicles, escape from robots or fight etc. But when you are patient and progress the missions, it becomes very addictive.
The graphics are simply flawless. There is no need to say anything else about this. The variety of weapons is nice. There are tons of things like scopes, large magazines, silencers, recoil suppressors, etc. There are tons of clothes. Some give bonuses, you take less explosion damage, fall damage, etc.
There are some visual bugs in them, only if there is a structure on a hill, you can only see some of it from where it meets the ground. It does not have a negative effect on the game.
Music, clothes, weapon designs, all kinds of effects, moonlight, sunset, water and all other landscape and object designs are flawless. Enter a house and go out to the balcony on the second floor and watch the view. The house decorations are amazing. It makes you want to go and live there.
    I definitely recommend it.

Fun Stealth and Nice Open World!
    7
    • Pros
    • Beautiful graphics and places to explore
    • Satisfying Stealth
    • Lots of things to collect around the map
    • Co-Op Available
    • Cons
    • Very Action-Heavy Combat

A game that balances exploration, stealth and fps action for an immersive survival experience! The stealth carries weight in this game since the enemies are not to be underestimated! They’re fast, strong and terrifying! You have to be careful with them to not detect you, and you need to prioritize exploring the map first to gather resources and tale time to study the enemies from afar! This makes it feel more realistic because you have to earn your survival!

The game has beautiful sceneries to explore and detailed houses to explore and options to set up base! There are many things to search for and collect around the map, making it feel very dynamic! Co-Op is a really nice feature for the game to work together to survive and figure out your stealth situation or fighting tactics!

    A Captivating Survival Experience
    9
    • Pros
    • Immersive Environment
    • Unique Setting
    • Challenging Combat
    • Cooperative Multiplayer
    • Cons
    • Repetitive Gameplay
    • Performance Issues
    • Difficulty Curve

As an avid gamer and survival genre enthusiast, I was eager to jump into Generation Zero, a title that has been on my radar for some time. Having played it extensively on PC, I’m ready to share my experience with this game.
One of Generation Zero’s strongest points is its atmospheric setting. The game takes place in an alternate-history Sweden of the 1980s, and it excels in creating an immersive environment. The game world is vast and beautifully designed, with a mix of picturesque countryside, eerie forests, and abandoned towns. The attention to detail in the environment, from the dilapidated houses to the overgrown fields, contributes significantly to the game’s immersion. The weather and time-of-day cycles also add to the tension, making every exploration feel unpredictable.
At its core, Generation Zero is a survival game where you scavenge for resources, craft items, and fend off hostile robots. The combat mechanics are engaging but can be a mixed bag. On one hand, the robots are well-designed and present a real challenge. Their AI is fairly sophisticated, and each type has distinct behaviors and weaknesses, which adds depth to the tactical aspect of combat. On the other hand, the shooting mechanics can feel a bit clunky at times, and the aiming system is not as refined as one might hope.
The scavenging and crafting systems are solid, but they can become repetitive. Finding and managing resources is a key part of survival, and while it’s satisfying to craft new items and upgrade your gear, the process can sometimes feel tedious. The game’s pacing can also be uneven, with long stretches of scavenging and exploration occasionally interrupted by sudden, intense robot encounters.
One of the standout features of Generation Zero is its cooperative multiplayer mode. Playing with friends can significantly enhance the experience, turning the game into a more strategic and collaborative adventure. The ability to strategize with teammates, plan ambushes, and share resources makes the survival aspects more enjoyable. However, it’s worth noting that the game’s performance can sometimes lag during intense firefights, especially in larger multiplayer sessions.
On the technical side, Generation Zero has seen significant improvements since its initial release, but it still has some bugs and performance issues. Frame rate drops and occasional crashes can disrupt the experience, though these issues are somewhat mitigated by regular updates from the developers.
Overall, Generation Zero offers a unique and engaging survival experience with its captivating setting and challenging robotic enemies. While the game has its share of issues—ranging from clunky combat mechanics to technical glitches—it’s still a worthwhile adventure
