The small development team at Convenant.dev out of Warsaw, Poland, just dropped their release date trailer for their debut game, Gord. The team over at Covenant.dev is no stranger to hit games, as some of their members have worked on such hits as Frost Punk and The Witcher 3.
Gord is a single-player dark fantasy colony sim with a real-time strategy built around a world of horrific and mystical beasts with rich lore inspired by Slavic folklore.
In Gord, you must lead the People of the Dawn to venture deep into the forbidden lands, where you will build your Gord, a fortified settlement, to protect your citizens, and fend off invading tribes, gruesome monsters, and the mysterious powers that lurk in the dark, foreboding woods that surround the settlement.
While you are building and maintaining your populace, you will have to keep an eye on your citizens with the Sanity System, as every action will affect them, the death of a family member, hunger, or even illness can devastate their well-being.

You will be able to take on a variety of quests, from random encounters to handcrafted quests that will bring the rich, dark Slavic folklore to life.
Sometimes cold, hard steel is not enough to take down the dark forces, as you will be able to unlock a variety of powerful offensive and defensive spells to decimate the horrors and send them back to from whence, they came.
You will never run out of quests to do, as you can create your own custom scenarios. Once you choose the parameters of your scenario, such as the main objective, party size, enemy types, and raid intensities, your quest will be procedurally generated, offering you an endless variety of challenges.
Gord will release on the 8th of August on Steam, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and Series S, and Xbox One.
But if Gord has you, you can pre-order right now, granting you access to the original soundtrack, a digital artbook, and an additional scenario mode, “Hold Your Ground,” which will test your mettle as you attempt to fend off increasingly stronger waves of enemies.
Do you want to try Gord before you buy it? You can play the demo when it gets shown off at the Steam Next Fest on June 19–26th. If you do miss out on the pre-sale, don’t fret as the artbook, custom scenario, and original soundtrack will be available after launch in a Digital Deluxe Edition of the game.
