Grounded 2 Launches the ‘Hairy and Scary’ Update

A new creature comes scurrying across the park with eight fuzzy legs.

Grounded 2 has had a steady flow of new content since it was released earlier this year. And this fresh update, right before the scary season, might I add, promises to be bigger and hairier than the previous ones. If you’re afraid of some eight-legged creatures stomping around, you might not find this update very appealing.

The biggest news from the creators of Grounded 2, is the introduction of the first boss, Axl, a fuzzy tarantula loose in Brookhollow Park. In addition to it, the developers revealed lore surrounding the spider’s inclusion into the park. Along with lore and this massive monster to slay comes a plethora of new equipment, armor, weapons, and even a new chest that can hold a large amount of resources.

Axl’s armor and weapons are not the only additions. Developers have also slipped in a Praying Mantis armor set for players to find. And if it’s home decorations you’re looking for, this update has those as well. Who doesn’t want a big, fuzzy, spider head mounted on their wall?

The biggest surprise is the pneumatic fast travel system. The game already offers a solid travel option in the form of mounts, which can move quickly across terrain. However, that said, as the expansion of the park grows, this pneumatic fast travel might be a godsend. I’m looking forward to new areas opening up around the park.

Another new feature coming with this update is a building matrix, giving more control over building and snapping pieces together as you build the ultimate grass hut. It appears to be a rework of the building menu, and aside from the easier snap and placement, it’s unclear what else this new matrix adds to the gameplay.

Several QOL changes have also been implemented, along with quite a large list of fixes detailed in the patch notes. So much so, I’m eager to jump back into Grounded 2 and see what’s new.
