Horizon Zero Dawn Inspired Survival Game ‘Light of Motiram’ Reveals Its First Gameplay Footage

Tame powerful machines and utilize a realistic physics-based building system.

Polaris Quest recently announced their post-apocalyptic survival game Light of Motiram, which draws a lot of inspiration from Horizon Zero Dawn. The developer also shared some details about the world and what we can expect to see in the game.

You find yourself in a land called Mortiram, set in the far future, where humans are on the brink of extinction. The game world consists of a variety of biomes to explore, from forests and deserts to mountains and grasslands. Among these areas, you can discover ancient ruins where you will slowly uncover what is happening by deciphering old texts and machines.

However, just because humanity is nearly wiped out does not mean you are alone. The world is being taken over by large mechanical animals. Around 100 of these can be tamed. Once you do, you can ride them, each having their own unique skills. But what makes a travel companion even better? Guns. You can modify these creatures by mounting weapons on them, so you can better protect yourself while out exploring. They come in many different sizes, and some can even fly.

While the robots will be the main threats to your life, especially the bosses who can take a beating, the weather and general survival mechanics also pose an issue. You will have to gather resources, forage or fish for food, and build a base to keep yourself safe.

The building system leans into a realistic physics system, so you have to make sure to properly fortify everything you make. Gravity will not be the only force that will try to take your new house down, storms can cause damage alongside roaming enemies. To prevent those pesky robots from tearing your base down, you have to install automated turrets that defend your property while you are out on resource runs. Or station one of your friends at the camp and keep watch, as Light of Motiram will be playable in online co-op.

Check out the new gameplay reveal trailer and let me know your first impressions of the game.
