I like this game a lot, way more than I expected. The first thing that hit me was how much it reminded me of the golden Left 4 Dead 2 days – just jump in, grab some friends (or randoms), shoot everything that moves, and enjoy the chaos. It has that same arcade co-op energy where the gameplay doesn’t try to overcomplicate things. You load in, survive the madness, laugh when everything goes wrong, and queue again. Sometimes that’s all a game needs to do.
What really helps is the variety. Weapons actually feel different instead of being simple stat upgrades, and switching loadouts changes how you approach missions. Vehicles are also a great addition – they’re not just there for transportation, they genuinely affect how matches play out and create those fun “only in this game” moments when everything turns into complete chaos. Those are the moments I’ll remember most.
My biggest issue is matchmaking, and honestly it’s a big one. I mostly play higher difficulty missions, especially extra hard, and for some reason the game constantly throws brand new players into those lobbies. I’m talking level 1 or level 2 players who clearly haven’t even finished a normal run yet. That shouldn’t even be possible. If it happened occasionally I wouldn’t care, but from my experience it happens almost every time – probably 90% of my matches. At that point it stops being challenging and starts feeling like you’re babysitting instead of playing. A proper level requirement for harder content would solve a lot of this frustration.
Outside of that, I’m having a great time. The core gameplay is fun, the atmosphere is exactly what it should be, and the game understands what kind of experience it wants to deliver. Not every co-op shooter needs to reinvent the wheel – sometimes bringing back that old-school horde shooter energy is enough.
I’m definitely sticking with this one and waiting for new maps, new content, and hopefully some matchmaking fixes. Easy recommendation from me if you like co-op shooters, especially if you miss the Left 4 Dead formula. It’s not perfect, but it’s a lot of fun.
