Lost Rift Teases Dinosaur Creature in First Roadmap

The next expedition map gives off prehistoric era vibes.

It has been two weeks since Lost Rift launched into Early Access, and after collecting player feedback, the developers have published a roadmap revealing the second expedition map, new creatures, a wooden building set, and balancing changes coming in the next major update.

The biggest addition is a new expedition map. This will be a PvPvE island with more dangers and valuable loot to find. The roadmap also introduces an alpha predator that will stalk the new area, along with a new prey animal, the capybara, which adds a welcoming feel to the ecosystem.

Gun modding is on the way. Players will be able to fit attachments and tune weapons to their style. The team also said multiple new firearms are planned to widen the choices in combat.

On the building site, the developers will add wood as a building material so bases can be stronger and new structures can be constructed. A fast travel system for the Pioneers’ Landing PvE area will speed up trips across the island and reduce long back and forth walks.

New player onboarding for expeditions will be improved. Matchmaking will try to group players by their game progress so new Rifters do not feel lost when they step into higher level content. Solo play will get some love too, with solo revives and an opt-in solo expedition that lets you choose whether you want to fight against other solo players or groups.

A few practical changes are coming to make the game easier to manage. Players will be able to craft at their workbench using items held in a new storage chest. It will be possible to remove ammo directly from guns to swap rounds more easily. The HUD will gain an armor durability indicator so players can see when armor is about to fail.

Beyond these items, the roadmap promises steady follow up work. The team intends to balance weapons and the in game economy, tune AI to act smarter, and refine revive and heavy wound systems. They stressed that player feedback will continue to shape priorities as the game grows.

For now, this is just a first look rather than a final plan for what we can expect in Lost Rift. The developers have said that more details, including the release date of the first major content update, will be shared in future announcements.
