    Cool concept, undelivered reality

    • Pros
    • Quite nice pixel art and fantasy/castlevania kind of theme
    • Fun weapons and ways to upgrade them and yourself
    • The boss fights are challenging
    • Combat and abilities can be fun
    • Cons
    • Unfinished, abandoned game
    • Lots of bugs
    • Lack of good controller support
    • No tutorial or story
    • Farming resources is grindy

The concept for this game was cool (kind of reminds me of Terraria!) and I’m quite a fan of the pixel art, fantasy theme and environments! There are many things holding it back though… When you start the game, there is no tutorial, no explanation of gameplay mechanics, and no story. The game is unfinished, with promises and communications seemingly abandoned, bugs left in and never fixed, and concepts unexplored. For all of these reasons, the price is wholly unjustified and it should honestly still be left in early access. It still may be a game worth trying on a nice sale though, the combat is fun (but the character is too easily one-shot) It has quite a large array of weapons, abilities, and ways to upgrade them and your character. The boss fights are genuinely challenging (though I’d say only because the balance is kind of all over the place) and the arenas are fun! Grinding for resources is a bit excruciating and the linear environments get boring after a while. While the artwork in the environments and initial character designs are nice, the enemies’ animations are pretty limited and janky, with them going into weird places and clipping into textures. I would have also really appreciated more gameplay tips, explanations, tutorials and a story mode to really feel like you’re working towards something! The sound effects are nicely atmospheric (like a relaxing waterfall, thunderstorm, rain etc) and they aren’t overwhelming like some games. The character is silent except for their abilities which I actually really appreciate! The enemies only seem to have one sound effect though that they let out when you attack, and in a huge group of enemies this starts showing as a bit amateurish and limiting. There’s unfortunately lots of lost potential on a game that could have been really nice if they kept working on it.

After choosing one of the different characters, you can step into the pixel world in this game; You can collect resources, do crafting and encounter RPG elements. Since you can also encounter and fight with various types of enemies in the world you are in while you are busy with all these contents, you can take care to use your character’s talents and skills in the most effective way in those action stages. After creating the world, it offers 5 different character options for you to play. Each character has its own special skill. You collect various materials in the game and make various crafts. You make crafts from places in your own base. While walking around, various creatures attack you and you can earn various points by killing them. While mentioning character skills; When choosing your character at the beginning, you may need to be careful to choose the one that suits your own play style. Otherwise, you may feel that some characters are more cumbersome than other characters in the action stages. Finally, since the game also has a co-op player option, you can also try to embark on all these adventures with your friend.
