New Vampire Game Set in the V Rising Universe Confirmed

V Rising content updates are over, but really, what else could they add?

The future of the highly acclaimed vampire survival game is taking a different path that many players may not want. But honestly, it is not an unexpected one. Stunlock Studios has announced that there will be no more content updates for V Rising. And really, what more could they add to expand it? I have spent time with the game myself and it feels like it ends on a satisfying note. Let us take a closer look at what to expect next.

The developers describe the current version of the game as a complete experience, particularly in terms of its progression and overarching journey. As a result, players shouldn’t expect the kind of major updates that typically require starting over with a fresh save. Instead, support will continue through smaller balance adjustments and bug fixes, delivered when needed rather than on a fixed schedule. So there won’t be a v1.2.

The studio also addressed long-standing desire around modding. While the idea of official mod support was explored, the team ultimately determined that the game’s structure wouldn’t allow for tools that meet their standards. Although that may disappoint some players, the knowledge gained during that investigation is expected to influence future projects. That’s some silver lining in the clouds, I’d say.

The future is where most of the focus now lies. Stunlock Studios has confirmed it’s developing a new game set in the same gothic universe. While details remain sparse, the team says it will be their most ambitious project to date. The new title is being built with fewer technical constraints, allowing developers to experiment with systems and ideas that weren’t feasible within the framework of V Rising.

The goal is to expand the world with greater technical depth, while still maintaining the identity and lore that drew players in. The studio plans to stay connected with its community through feedback polls and server highlights. These efforts are meant to guide ongoing support for the current game while also shaping future decisions.

I for one can’t wait to see what the team reveals in the future, as the game is still known to be in early development.
