Christmas comes early for Pacific Drive fans this year, as developer Ironwood Studios announced a new story-driven expansion for their post-apocalyptic survival adventure.
The expansion trailer starts with a haunting melody that immediately sets the tone, pulling players back into the mysterious Exclusion Zone. Every dirt road and winding highway hides new challenges, and as you take the wheel of your trusty station wagon, you’ll uncover a story where survival demands total sacrifice.
Lurking in the shadows of pine trees and ruined effigies, anomaly-obsessed lunatics and cryptic symbols wait for you to slip up, making every journey tense and unpredictable. To help you survive, developers have equipped players with new tools and resources, while the new 8–12 story arc allows you to continue your playthrough from the last save, seamlessly extending the main campaign. Within hours of finishing the original story, the DLC becomes available, offering fresh mysteries, encounters, and challenges to explore.

As you navigate the unfamiliar forests, fully voiced characters bring the world to life, and new maps unfold around your station wagon, which you can upgrade with fresh parts and cosmetics. Hidden junctions provide both resources and treasures, rewarding exploration and careful planning.
The new artifact system adds another layer of strategy, unlocking additional locations and anomalies that affect both your journey and the wider Olympic Exclusion Zone. Gas stations and route modifiers introduce new ways to approach survival, forcing players to adapt as dangers escalate. The developers warn that these updates raise the stakes, making each decision critical. Adding to the tension and atmosphere is a captivating musical score composed by Wilbert Roger II, further immersing players in this haunting, unpredictable world.
The new expansion for Pacific Drive will launch later this year on both PlayStation and PC.
