Ironwood Studios is breaking the mold with their new survival game release, Pacific Drive. In this first-person driving adventure, it’s up to you and your faithful station wagon to unravel the mysteries of the Olympic Exclusion Zone.
You start off as a lone protagonist in an abandoned garage with a very beat-up, broken-down station wagon, which is your lifeline in the game. You must find and craft what is needed to repair your vehicle to a drive-able state.
As you look around the garage for the parts you need, you will be able to build your car the way you want. You will be able to research and develop different mods and parts to allow you to customize your vehicle to navigate the treacherous landscape and the supernatural dangers that await you in the zone.

The world is filled with anomalies, radiation zones, and surreal forces of nature that have been corrupted and twisted by the mysterious forces in the anomalies. You will need to make trips out of the safety of your garage in search of spare parts and the experimental leftovers of the secretive ARDA organization.
Each adventure out will be different as the zone is procedurally generated, so you never know what you might find, which is fitting for such a chaotic environment. As you travel on and off the road, you will have to overcome not only a hazardous landscape but also strange exotic creatures and forces that will try to stop you. Time is also not on your side; the longer you stay out on a run, the more hostile and erratic the area will become.
Your vehicle is also a character in the game, as you will find out that even it has been affected by the powers of mysterious forces and has developed a personality of its own. Sometimes it will act erratically; the engine might stall, and the hood might pop up unexpectedly, blocking your view. To find out what is bothering your wagon, you will have to hook it up to a diagnostic machine, ask it with a set of if-than statements, and try to figure out and overcome what’s wrong with it.

Keep the tank full and the batteries charged, and make sure to upgrade and reinforce your faithful wagon to protect you in the zone. Scavenging materials and making repairs on the fly will keep you busy as you prepare for your next road trip.
No road trip would be worth its salt if it didn’t come with some good tunes on the radio. Pacific Drive features a 20+ song original score by the legendary composer Wilbert Roget II, who’s songs can be heard in other games such as Mortal Combat 11, Call of Duty: WWII, and most recent Helldivers 2.
Pacific Drive is sure to be a one-of-a kind hit and is now available on PC via Steam, Epic Games, and PlayStation 5.
