Planet Crafter Terraforms Into Full Release

Transform a barren planet with friends.

After 2 years in development, Planet Crafter has left Early Access, bringing the highly requested multiplayer feature along with new biomes, animals, and more.

The multiplayer mode has finally been added to the game. Players can host their own server through Steam and play with friends. While the mode supports an unlimited amount of players at once, the number of people that can join a game will depend on the host of their computer, and internet speed.

However, there are no dedicated servers, so won’t be able to play with random players, instead, you can simply invite anyone on your Steam friends list through the Steam servers or send people your invite code. For a better multiplayer experience, the developers highly recommend starting a new save file, as inviting people to already existing save files could cause some problems.

The final terraforming stage has arrived, introducing mammals and new mechanics that allow players to create unique creatures by combining DNA found in chests or extracted from plants, fish, or butterflies.

In order to extract it, players will need to use the DNA extractor by inserting various living things and then use the synthesizer to create a DNA sequence. Depending on what you throw in there you can get something different, so with some experimentation you will be able to obtain a sequence with the desired genetic traits. Once you have the one you like, you will have to create an animal shelter to spawn the animal. There are over 50 different genetic traits you can obtain in the game, so you will be able to create what feels like a near infinite number of creature variations.

Miju Games has also expanded the game world by adding three new biomes: the Cascades, a small area near the beach with numerous waterfalls; the Grasslands, featuring lush green fields and rivers; and the Rainbow Caves, a late-game area where players can find the differently colored quartz introduced in the last update. In addition to these new locations, several existing biomes have been enhanced with more trees, flowers, and alternate routes between them

Planet Crafter now features an official ending and a brand-new introduction cinematic, along with 20 new music tracks, a captivating title screen track, and a new spawning location in the Ice Plains. Additionally, players can now sit on chairs, and the snapping of pod habitats has been slightly tweaked, while the number of terra tokens found in wrecks has been reduced, as procedurally generated structures were previously overly lucrative.

These last two years have been an exciting journey for terraformers, and hopefully, the 1.0 release is not the end of it. Planet Crafter is currently available on Steam with a 30% discount.
