Pokémon-Inspired Survival Game ‘Palworld’ Gets an Official Release Date

The adventure is about to begin!

Pocket Pair has released the final trailer for their highly anticipated Palworld, which is best described as “Pokémon with guns”. In the video, they revealed a ton of creatures you will be able to tame, some of the game mechanics, how to capture Pals, and the abilities they have. However, the biggest announcement came towards the end when they revealed the official release date for Palworld.

While the game will feature over 100 different Pals to collect and train, the trailer did not show anywhere near this amount. Instead, it focused on a few that will help the player out with basic chores as well as combat.

These mysterious creatures can use their abilities to start a fire and use it to cook, or fertilize and water crops for you. If you have a big base in mind or need a large amount of crafted materials, you can put these Pals to use and create your own empire. Just be careful while they are lighting a fire, as the wooden structures you built can go up in flames. They will require food and rest or else their motivation to work for you will go down, and they will no longer perform their given task.

Similarly to Pokémon, they can use moves in battle to damage your opponent, so you do not have to fight with just guns. Battling other creatures is done when trying to capture another Pal, you will have to weaken them and throw an item called a “Pal Sphere” towards them. There will also be bosses to tackle who are way stronger and multiple rival factions to take down.

Palworld is coming to Steam, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, and Game Pass on January 19th. You will be able to play it alone or with up to 32 players.

Will you focus on combat, or will you be building up a civilization with your Pals? Let me know in the comments.
