Rebellion Shares a New Look at the Detailed World of Atomfall

Post-apocalyptic Britain has plenty of surprises.

The developers best known for their shooter game Sniper Elite, Rebellion, have released a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming survival game Atomfall, revealing bits of the story, what to expect while exploring, different play styles, and a variety of dangerous enemies.

The story of Atomfall is based on the real-life Windscale nuclear disaster that happened in 1957 in Great Britain. The game takes place five years after the event in a quarantine zone. You wake up and have forgotten everything about your past; all you know is that you need to figure out what exactly happened back then and get the information out into the wider world.

Across the world, players find notes and NPCs that reveal more about the story and some even lead you to hidden bunkers and outposts. There is also a large city under the protection of the army; depending on your choices, it will be a safe haven, or the place of danger. Outside the settlement is even worse. Bandits and cultists roam the land and are not a friendly bunch. And if that wasn’t bad enough, the old facilities are infested with mutated creatures.

Weapons are vital for survival in Atomfall. There is a variety of melee weapons and guns. By scavenging for the right materials, you can upgrade your firearms to deal more damage. However, ammo is rare, so use it wisely. While you are out looting, resources are not the only useful things you will find, there are new crafting recipes and skill books. Depending on the skills you unlock, different conversation options will appear when talking with NPCs, changing the story.

Atomfall will be released on the 27th of March on nearly every platform currently available, which include Xbox One and Series X/S, PlayStation 4 and 5, Steam, Epic Games, Windows Store, and if you own Game Pass, you can download the game on day one.
