Rooted is an upcoming post-apocalyptic survival game that invites you to explore the ruins of past civilization as one of the last survivors. The developers have announced a Kickstarter campaign and a closed alpha test as they celebrate 130,000 wishlists on Steam.

Headlight Studio has revealed that many publishers showed interest in Rooted, but they decided to start with a Kickstarter campaign as a way to maintain independence in the game creation process. The game’s Kickstarter is going to launch in just a few weeks. 

The developers have mentioned how and when you will be able to access the first alpha test. The alpha access will be granted to Kickstarter campaign supporters or chosen players who show interest by submitting the application form. Some of the most active Rooted followers can also get picked for testing. The first alpha session will be about providing feedback about the main game features and is expected to launch later this year. It will be under NDA.

Rooted looks like one of the most promising upcoming survival games that seeks to harness the power of Unreal Engine 5.
