Creepy Jar, the developers behind the popular brutal jungle explorer Green Hell, are gearing up to release the first playtest for their next sci-fi survival title, StarRupture.
This beta consists of the first few hours of the game. Upon completing the tutorial, you are free to explore a section of the world of Arcadia-7. Around 15% of the map expected to be available in the early access release will be accessible. Later-game items and structures, including some wildlife, base attacks, and defense features, will be locked during this playtest.
The devs estimate there to be around three hours of playtime if you interact with everything it has to offer. However, you can always continue in freemode afterward if you want to construct a larger base.

Contact with an alien planet has been made. The first playtest for StarRupture launches on July 29, and fresh recruits are needed to explore the extraterrestrial landscapes and secure a perimeter for a new factory complex. pic.twitter.com/TWdcVgQlbs
While StarRupture is designed with multiplayer in mind, this playtest will be single-player exclusively in order to iron out all the kinks of the base experience without server problems being able to interfere. So you will have to fight bugs, build automated factories, and survive an exploding sun on your own for now.
If you would like to join this test, head over to the game’s Steam page and request access. When it goes live on the 29th of this month and runs until the 31st, upon launch, you will receive a notification that it is ready to download in your library. If you’re excited about the game or still undecided about purchasing it at launch, this is a perfect chance to jump in and experience the core gameplay before its release this autumn.
Are you going to join the playtest or wait for the game’s early access release? Let me know in the comments.
