Starrupture combines factory automation, base building, and combat into an engaging, beautiful package. The automation systems feel smooth and intuitive, making it satisfying to expand production lines and optimize your growing operation. There is also a wide variety of parts, machines, and structures to unlock and build, giving players plenty of goals to work toward. I do enjoy the adventure to get recipes to unlock further items.
The world itself is beautiful, with impressive environments that make exploration enjoyable rather than feeling like a chore, but it is big, quite big. Combat is another highlight, offering a smooth experience, easy controls and encounters that are both fun and rewarding. Especially when defending the area-scanners.
That said, the game isn’t without its issues. The Rupture cycle currently feels a little too frequent, but it could be just me traveling too far without resources, often disrupting progress before you’ve had enough time to settle into your current objectives. While the mechanic adds tension, it can sometimes feel more frustrating than exciting.
The pull system is another area that feels off. It could be that I am used to mostly push systems, like in Satisfactory. With enough time, I will figure it out.
Overall, Starrupture has a strong foundation with excellent automation, enjoyable combat, and a gorgeous world to explore. If the pacing of the Rupture cycle and the pull system receive some adjustments, it has the potential to become something truly special.
P.S. The new zipline system is a very good addition.
Game is super fun so far, and the exploration combined with the lore keeps the mystery going and engages you in a way other factory builders don’t. It still needs some of the creature comforts of 3D factory builders (zoop, blueprinting, moving of entities, etc), but those aren’t showstoppers. I’m very much looking forward to what Creepy Jar brings to the game in the future.
