Updates are always welcome around here, especially when they’re packed like this one from developer Roboto Games. While Stormforge is preparing for the next playtest, the April update introduces several gameplay changes that expand both exploration and character progression.
The game world, Sorana, has been expanded with additional points of interest designed to make travel feel less repetitive and more reactive. These locations range from environmental storytelling elements like abandoned structures to functional areas such as resource hubs and enemy-controlled camps. The intent appears to be giving players more reasons to deviate from direct objectives and engage with the map more organically.
Character development has also been adjusted through the evolution of the skill tree system. Skills are tied to Scions, which represent spirits of past heroes. Once unlocked, these trees aren’t restrictive, allowing players to combine abilities across different Scions. This flexibility supports experimentation, especially since re-specing is available at a cost, reducing the penalty for changing builds.

The Warrior class received particular attention in this update. It focuses on close combat, offering varied attack options alongside tools for stamina control and defense. The design suggests a balance between aggression and survivability, giving players multiple approaches during encounters rather than forcing a single playstyle.
Developers have indicated that other classes, including Ranger and Mage, are expected to receive similar expansions later. This points to a broader effort to diversify combat roles across the game.
The update also contains feedback gathered during a late March playtest. According to the developers, player input influenced several of the adjustments now being implemented. Another Stormforge playtest is planned, though the exact date is still to be announced. Access will be tied to community participation and sign-ups on the official website.
