Sunkenland is the newest early access survival craft game to splash down upon the Steam store. If you took a little bit of Rust, 7 Days to Die, and Raft, threw them into a blender and hit frappé, then scooped out the mix, baked it in the oven on 450 degrees for about an hour, you would have a taste of Sunkenland.
The game set in the world after the world’s populations have been decimated under the rising tides of the ocean that now cover most of the known world with pockets of land, and buildings to explore. Gather food, from fishing, hunting sharks or even building your very own mini farm, but once you have a full belly you will have to head out and see what you can find.
The real secrets of this game don’t lie upon the land but, rest below the waves, as you will have to dive into the ocean to explore the old world and scavenge what you can, as you gather the materials, and technologies to survive.
Build anywhere you want, the waterworld is your oyster, stake your claim and start building your ocean stronghold with a modular building system, from the scraps of the world before, collect and decorate your man cave with pre-apocalypse items, but be prepared to defend what is yours, as only the strong will remain.

Fight on land and sea against mutants, pirates and bandits, all intent on taking what is yours. Don’t forget to build defensive structures, such as barb-wire, traps, heavy mounted weaponry and even artillery. Luckily, you don’t have to wait for them to attack, but you can bring the battle to their shores, in a myriad of different waterborne crafts such as sailboats, jet skis and my favorite, the Gyrocopter. Assault your enemies atolls and steal their resources, then take all your plunder back to the traders and exchange your goods for much-needed supplies, armor and even some rare items. There is no currency in the future, so prepare to trade items.
The good thing is that you don’t have to do this all on your own as it is a co-op game, so play with up to 4 of your friends, in this game which is sure to stir things up. As of right now, there has not been any mention of any PVP planned, but this game sure looks like it could handle it.
Sunkenland is currently available on Steam for $15.99, including a launch discount.
I can’t wait to dive in and give this game a try, so keep checking back as I provide more information in future updates.
