Paddle Greek Games is about to release their mutant survival MMO, Fractured Veil. The game takes place in post-apocalyptic Hawaii, on the island of Maui, which is infested by bloodthirsty mutants.
The game offers an extensive base building and tiered skill-based crafting system, which allows players to create and upgrade structures and items on the type of resources they have, like wood or metal.
In order to build a base, you need to place a totem to claim an area. This building needs resources for upkeep, so players who are offline for a long time can’t occupy a location forever.
In Fractured Veil, your base can be raided not only by other players but also by mutants. You can protect your base from player raids by building in PvE zones. However, this won’t stop mutants that come in waves of varying difficulty depending on the material your house is made of; the stronger the building, the harder the raid will be. You’ll notice when a wave is about to spawn by a sound cue and the appearance of smoke columns around you.

With an open world and a vast 64-square-kilometer map, the game offers a diverse and exciting environment for players to explore and survive. Since the game is set on the island of Maui, the developers tried to bring as much life into this world as possible and took note of the real-world topographical data of the area.
The island also has various dungeons scattered around the map, ranging from narrow corridors to large open spaces, offering a variety of challenges. You can venture into these underground areas alone or with a group of friends.
Fractured Veil features an RPG-inspired player progression system with talents, abilities, and skills, allowing players to customize their characters and develop unique strategies for survival. Additionally, the quest system adds lore and enables players to choose how they want to experience the game.

One of the most interesting and unique features the game brings not only to the survival genre but to the gaming space as a whole is its AI-powered drones that take over the skies, patrolling the entire map and streaming live gameplay on Twitch.tv round the clock. These drones are programmed to focus on PvP and PvE action, capturing every bit of the action in standard, night-vision, spotlight, and thermal modes. I can’t wait to see the funny and nail-biting moments this stream can provide.
The developers have also released a roadmap detailing what we can expect to see in the game later this year. There will be new armor, clothing to buy, and most excitingly of all, a brand-new biome will be coming in summer!
Fractured Veil will launch into Early Access on Steam.
Are you going to build a beachside resort, or explore the island? Let me know in the comments.
