Tunic looks adorable on the surface, but it’s much deeper and tougher than it first appears. Exploring the world, slowly understanding its systems, and figuring things out without hand-holding felt incredibly rewarding. It can be confusing and punishing at times, but that sense of discovery is what makes it special.
The feeling the game gives is that you are playing in a language you don’t know as a child or when the text doesn’t make sense because you don’t know how to read. I can say that it has captured that unique adventure feeling you felt when you were a child, where the gaps are filled with your imagination. It’s easy to think that the developers have experienced a Zelda game in the same way.
In order to enjoy the game, you should constantly examine the booklet you open with the “select” button. There are visual clues hidden in the pages about what to do. Although the clues you need to finish the game are quite easy to follow, they haven’t forgotten those who really want to find something by grabbing a pen and paper. There are a ton of chests in the game that can be found by walking around the map, and there are just as many chests that you can reveal yourself with just the clues in the booklet.
Although finding these chests is not as crazy as FEZ, I think it will satisfy players who like this kind of thing. Tunic was a game that went much further than I expected. It provided a solid experience that can be among the first examples that come to mind when it comes to adventure games. Although it has two different structured gameplays, action and adventure, it presents them as a whole so well that the two different aspects support each other very well and allow the overall experience to reach a better level. I really liked that the booklet in the game is a guide and guide, it is a genius idea and I think it has given the game its own character. Since it reminds me of Zelda games, it is naturally compared in many places, sometimes it is even called a clone, but I think this game has its own character to not be called a clone. If you like playing games and want to experience the adventure feeling to the fullest, I recommend it to the end, definitely play it.
This game is very unique, cute souls-likes are very rare to find! The fantasy setting is very cool and atmospheric to travel through! There are things to unlock, secrets to find and ways to improve! I did find it quite difficult and hard to follow with the way everything is cryptic and basically nothing is told to you! I think it could have dialed back on that a bit and been more clear! Mystery is refreshing but not when it’s too convoluted!
Overall, it’s a game for a specific kind of person with patience and attention to detail! It’s a lovely world and great for those who love a challenge!
Don’t judge a book by its cover; beneath the adorable exterior of a little fox lies a fearless warrior! Tunic draws clear inspiration from the Zelda franchise, offering exquisite and colorful artistic direction and demanding combat.
Tunic is, at its core, an exploration-puzzle game. In this vast world, mysteries abound, and our little character awakens with no explanations, left to explore and uncover answers.
Tunic is, in reality, a raw title that frequently leaves the player to fend for themselves. The action sequences are no walk in the park. Tunic focuses on challenging combat that relies on reading enemy movements, dodging, and stamina management. In this regard, beyond the sword and shield duo and the green attire that unmistakably nods to Zelda, the game draws substantial inspiration from Dark Souls.
Ah, to not forget, one of the standout features of the game is the in-game paper manual that you must complete as you progress, with its pages scattered – and often well-hidden – throughout the world. This document plays a significant role in your journey.
If you like Souls like game, but hate dark atmosphere, this game is for you.
Try this cute Elden Ring like game. When you die, you lose coins that scatter at death point. It is similar to Sonic when he is attacked by enemies, and similar to Elden Ring when the players die and lose their souls.
Enemies are defined well and the graphics are shockingly good!
