Stunlock Studios has announced the release date for the first major Secrets of Gloomrot update to their vampire survival game, V Rising.

A massive new area named Gloomrot will be added to the game. This is a dangerous area where scientists perform cruel and twisted experiments. The biome is littered with mutated creatures and mechanical beings out for blood.

Both Gloomrot, as well as the Cursed Forest, are getting weather hazards. A mysterious mist flows into the spider-infested woods and will choke the player if they stand in it. The new biome is a hot spot for lightning strikes, so be careful when exploring.

Alongside the new area, some of the old ones are getting new points of interest for you to visit and loot, with Dunley Farms getting the most.

Trade hubs are being constructed all around Vardoran, some friendly, while others are not. This is a great place to spend some of those silver coins you have lying around.

New buildings

Another major addition coming to V Rising during this update is the ability to create multiple floors in your castle. This is a fan-requested feature, and it is great to see it finally come to the game. There will be new crafting stations like the legendary forge, fabricator, and leatherworking station. Many new decorations are being added to make not only the inside of your base look good, but also the garden surrounding it. For those who do not like the basic wall color, you will be able to paint them in different colors.

New enemies, weapons, and magic

With a new biome come a ton of new enemies and bosses. There will be a total of 13 new V Blood carriers and 30 new basic enemy types. To combat these new foes, there are new weapons, a gun, a greatsword, and some new legendary weapons, which you can craft by finding the different pieces scattered all over the world. The magic system is getting reworked so you will be able to better personalize the way you want to use it in combat.
