Stunlock Studios has just revealed more information about new changes coming to the 1.0 release. The upcoming update is going to change the way we play V Rising by giving us the ability to customize our character to create a unique vampire persona.
One of the issues that V Rising faced was that once you started armoring your vampires, they all looked alike, but no more. The equipment menu has been dramatically changed, which will allow us to change the color of everything we are wearing, with up to 31 different color variations.
Player expression is the key in this update, so besides just being able to color our gear, we are going to be able to make 10+ new armor sets to specialize your gear to be more focused on your own combat style.

Each of the four sets of armor will have unique appearances and stats for every second tier of armor after bone. These sets will be focused on the four primary archetypes: brute, warrior, rogue, and scholar. Each of these sets will allow you to do more damage based on your attack type. Scholar armor will provide more magical damage and warrior armor will deal more physical damage.
While armor isn’t the only thing getting upgraded, legendary weapons will undergo rebalancing across three tiers. This update will also bring a tier of artifacts, which will have distinct weapons for each weapon type that will still have unique names and statistics but will modify the way you play with the advanced weapon skills.
Soul Shards are also getting shinier; no longer will they be an ugly pylon that sits in your base, but rather a gorgeous necklace item that will imbue its wearer with powerful stats and buffs, providing a unique ultimate ability that will override your currently equipped one.

To use the power of the shard, you do need to wear it, which means it can also be taken by others if you play on a PVP server. Extreme power also brings others seeking that power for themselves. The Shard necklace also needs to be maintained, as it will come with a timer as its power degrades, requiring you to venture out and refill its energy at events that spawn in the final zone.
Last but not least, the lighting system of the game has seen a makeover as well. The new system relies on premade ambient lighting that provides a more natural environmental feel, allowing for realistic-looking metal and really enhancing the new armor and weapons you will be wielding. Besides looking even better than the old system, it is also easier on your graphics card, leading to FPS during play.
V1.0 update has been announced to be launched around the 2 half of Q2 2024, so sometimes between mid-May and June.
