I really enjoyed my time playing Wayfinder. This was a game that I was really looking forward to even before they launched it the first time. I’m glad the developers stuck with this game despite the original vision for the game failed. If your looking for a game hack and slah style game with a good progression system, some looter shooter vibes and a well written story this game is for you.
Online games like Wayfinder tend to disappear forever when they reach the end of their service. It’s an unfortunate reality that games lose funding, can’t cover server or staff costs, and face countless other challenges. We wanted to take a different approach because we’ve played all the games that have gone through this cycle. We value the world our team has created and the characters we’ve introduced to our players, and we don’t want them to disappear into the Darkness. Our goal is to leave players with a product they can enjoy forever.” For this reason, the developer has changed the game from an MMORPG-like structure to a single-player or co-op game. I find this useful in order to maintain the game’s playability when there are no players left. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have the chance to progress solo in an empty world with no players.
Wayfinder offers a limited gameplay experience as an early access game, but it’s still not a bad game as it is. The game offers you a variety of characters called Wayfinders. When you first start, you can choose one of three. After that, you have to grind in the game to unlock the characters you want. The character named Venomess is a season character and you can open it without paying any more money even if you buy the first package or you can open it directly by buying the third package. You enter various dungeons in the game, their designs are not bad, they do not have a straight linear structure, the bosses are satisfactory. There is an open world map with various quests and events but it is a limited map. There is no longer the waiting problem that occurred when it first came out. So it is not a very good AAA class game but it has promise in the future. It should be given a chance.
I admire the fact that the game was a failure at start but the devs gave it another shot and tried to bring it back to life.. That right there is a very good reason for me to buy a game and try it out.
It still needs work but eventually it’s going to get there. It just needs some more time and it will be a great game in the near future.
I like the way that the game feels and the beautiful open world with its nice little details, and me personally I love the cartoon style looking.
The performance like I mentioned is good in general but it has its issues sometimes but it’s very minor.
The skills and the character variety and the fact that you can play with both a controller and keyboard are a very positive thing that the game has and it’s worth it.
Repetitive yes, pay to play yes, rewarding system it could have been better of course BUT it’s totally worth giving this game a shot it’s a fun game
