Have you seen the Canadian movie Fido (2006)? Yes? Then in Welcome to ParadiZe, you’ll be doing something quite similar. No? Go watch it! 😊 If you’re too lazy, here’s the gist: it’s about domesticated zombies controlled by collars. In this game, it’s almost the same concept, except they’re tamed with headsets (yes, like audio headsets). Want to know more? Then grab your flamethrower, pack your backpack, don’t forget your zombie-taming headset, and get ready to dive into this chaotic and whimsical world!
The game takes place several years after Allan Tusk, the creator of ParadiZe, leaves behind his oasis in the middle of the apocalypse. But this once-paradisiacal haven has lost its charm: zombies are gradually taking over, breaking through the security barriers. A handful of survivors cling to life amidst the chaos, and it’s up to us to help them. From wacky side missions and FedEx-style quests to executions, there’s no shortage of variety. However, the main goal is crystal clear: retrieve the parts needed to build a rocket. Guided by Jeff Dusk, Allan’s son, we must assemble this ship to escape the hellscape and join the H2 station on the Moon, a new promised land for humanity.
Welcome to ParadiZe combines several genres: a top-down hack-and-slash, a survival game, and a base management simulator. You won’t just be fighting off hordes of zombies, you’ll also need to create a self-sustaining base by producing food, water, and electricity while crafting weapons and tools.
The zombie domestication system is at the heart of the experience. Using “enhanced” audio headsets, you can turn weakened zombies into obedient “Zombots.” These allies will help you fight their fellow undead or defend your camp. Thankfully, they use their own ammunition! However, their AI isn’t always reliable, and their occasional disobedience can be frustrating.
Additionally, the game includes a tower defense element. You’ll need to fortify your base to fend off waves of zombies and hostile survivors. And as always in zombie apocalypses, humans often turn out to be the bigger threat!
Visually, Welcome to ParadiZe impresses with its blend of vibrant colors and dark scenery. Mutant creatures, crumbling buildings, and desolate landscapes create an atmosphere that’s both oppressive and captivating. However, the immersion is hampered by uninspired level design. Environments tend to repeat: abandoned fences always indicate devastated camps hiding treasures, while intact fences signal allied zones. The forest, unfortunately, offers few surprises, a missed opportunity given the game’s potential.
I think that this game shines with its quirky humor and unique concept of domesticated zombies. With colorful graphics, varied gameplay, and an atmosphere that’s as gory as it is hilarious, it manages to charm despite its flaws, such as imperfect AI and repetitive level design. Ultimately, the game works wonderfully. Its strengths far outweigh its shortcomings, delivering an experience that’s grand, chaotic, and refreshingly unique. If you love zombies and out-of-the-box adventures, don’t hesitate to dive into this apocalypse like no other.
So Welcome to Paradize game is all about zombies and good zombies too which they are loyal to you and aid you in your survival..
Can you imagine now?? It’s beautiful environmental detail and how the zombies act so silly and the zombie customization is all you need to start your adventure in this action zombie full of silly skills post-apocalyptic camera immersive destruction gameplay!! Did I forget anything?? I guess not 😛
Funny story line and unique concept of zombie survival and using them to carry out your orders. A return to classic genre. The devs have taken a particular job very well and have done it wonderful.
However, after a while, it’s only the main plot line that keeps you going as fighting, upgrading and exploring gets stale too fast. Especially since all the zombies/enemy bases respawn. It doesn’t have replayability. Once you finish, it’s done.
The game is fun in a way. It kinda of a open world survival but the maps are not that huge. You can still explore places and discover. The objective is to survive and it gives you stuff to craft your fortress and weapons to defend yourself. There is a coop mode where you can invite friends. Its better to play with others so that your odds of surviving increase. You can play alone if you like challenges though.
The zombies are the same in terms of attacks. They change in design but are pretty much the same. They are others with special abilities. But the flawed thing is that there are no elite zombies, those with super special abilities. I hope in future updates they add more zombie variations.
You can craft stuff to build your house or fortress. The items are spread over the maps. The weapons are also craftable. Just a bit of grind to have good stuff.
A good novelty is that you can have zombots as companions. Yes, you can control them and upgrade them. But one problem is that they are not that reliable. They are bots so they don’t have too much intelligence to do as much as we do. Devs need to improve this aspect.
The combat system is your typical hack and slash. There is not much to say about this. Just spam your attack key until zombies are down. A good thing is that the zombots come with this mechanic so you don’t have to do all the work. The weapons are mostly melee and ranged type.
The game is like Dead Island but it’s not open world but a strategy game. It offers hours of content so you have chances of doing plenty of stuff. There are things to improve. Try for yourself if you like these types of games.
Welcome to ParadiZe and a good game in which you spend a lot of time having fun with its very addictive gameplay, but the game suffers from visuals and animations that are far behind current releases, and its Tower Defense phases are not pleasant to play and the survival aspect, which lacks enabling elements.
Welcome to ParadiZe therefore has a great atmosphere but we will clearly have to ignore a technique which is as fresh as the zombies.
Welcome to Paradize is a fun and easy game that will put you in a world infested with zombies, but will also allow you to have your own zombie companions. It has a little bit of everything, some survival elements, base building, fun combat, coop mode, a little bit of RPG with skill tree. It may not be the best zombie game there is, but it is a short and fun game to kill the time.
