If you’ve enjoyed defending your base from zombies in 7 Days to Die, it’s worth keeping an eye on 7 Days Blood Moons. Developed by iLLOGIKA in collaboration with The Fun Pimps, this new title offers a fresh yet familiar horde survival experience.
The game pitches intense matches that blend first person action with survival and real time strategy. Four survivors must scavenge, craft and fortify a base while a single zombie master directs the horde from a strategic view. Unlike the original game, the spinoff takes players to a variety of locations that lean toward fast-paced action rather than long open-world runs.
Survivors work with limited supplies. Loot is found in compass guided containers, medkits can heal teammates, and players pick Merit Badges each night to shape their play. There are weapons from rifles to rare chainsaws and a mix of traps and base upgrades to lean on. The game includes mechanics like explosive friendly fire, meaning your explosions can hurt teammates, making close-quarters fights even more unpredictable.
Playing as the zombie master is an almost opposite experience. From a top-down command view, the “zombie boss” summons waves, issues orders such as a mass Zombie Call, and can possess minions that are controlled in 3rd person. Harvesting remains and using earned upgrades opens new zombie types with distinct roles on the field. That mix aims to give the zombie master both a macro strategy layer and hands on chaos when needed.

Modes include zombie master versus survivors, horde versus AI with the same XP rewards as PvP, and solo experience for players who want to survive on their own. There is matchmaking by level region and ping, and custom modes that can mimic mod style play although full mod support is not part of the Early Access plan. The game also supports visual and cosmetic options for survivors and zombies, plus emotes and themed skins. Sounds cute.
The team expects 6 to 12 months in Early Access, with frequent updates that add new maps, animals, traps, and modes, while also refining balance and performance. Season Pass content is planned for after the game’s full release.
7 Days Blood Moons will enter Early Access on Steam on November 4, 2025, and will be available for $19.99.
