Ramjet Studios has updated their zombie survival game Vein to the alpha version 0.004. This update comes with new character uniqueness, things to build, and the internet! 

Character and building

Your character can now be lactose intolerant, making you very sick when consuming any milk product. While having pale skin makes you sunburn easier.

You get stressed faster now and can reduce this by consuming alcohol. However, drinking too much alcohol will now give you the chance to get alcohol poisoning. LSD has been added to Vein and when taking it you get some trippy effects.

When being hit by a zombie there is a 2% chance to become infected. If you become infected by the virus you will slowly turn into a zombie over a few days. Zombified characters can be hunted down after respawning to get your loot back.

You can now build wood scrap fortifications, this currently gives the lowest protection for your base. When building a house you are also able to create a door now. You will now be able to breach doors by shooting them, this will make them fly backward and hit anyone behind the door.

Water collectors that fill up during the rain have been added to the game . You can drink from them without issues but later you will need to purify the water.

The internet, other additions and Halloween event

During the early game, computers will still have internet. You can use it to communicate with other players or read up on the lore of the game through emails.

Money is an important resource for trading and you can now take debit cards you find to an ATM and take the zombie’s cash. Be careful when entering some houses as there is a chance of them having an alarm.

You are now able to delete your character from the main menu as well as turn off autosave. 

The flaregun has been added to the game and in classic zombie game fashion, you will be able to ignite them with it.

A new horde mode has been added that you have to turn on with console commands. During this mode, there will be three times the amount of zombies (this is still under heavy development).

While the devs do not want to add any new towns or houses yet. A new cave has been added just outside of Redfort. 

During the 25th of October and the 1st of November Vein will have its first Halloween event. No information has been given on what this will bring to the game so we will have to wait a few days.
