After several months of testing and a public demo period, Frontier Legends has finally entered Early Access. Being from the Wild West myself, it should be no surprise I love me some cowboy survival games.

Frontier Legends is an open-world survival adventure set in a fictional Wild West frontier where players begin as a lone settler trying to survive in an untamed wilderness. The game combines resource management, exploration, crafting and settlement building while placing a strong focus on player choice and multiplayer interaction.

Players will have access to an expanded version of the world shown during the demo. The full map will be available immediately, allowing players to travel across different regions from the beginning instead of progressing through locked areas over time. Developers encourage exploration, with abandoned camps, ruins, hidden treasures and environmental mysteries scattered throughout the frontier. Quests and puzzle-solving activities are also part of the larger world design.

Then there’s the survival mechanics. Players must manage food, supplies and other essential resources while dealing with wildlife, hostile outlaws and environmental threats. Dynamic weather systems and day-night cycles affect travel and exploration, forcing players to adapt to changing conditions during each expedition outside their settlement.

The settlement building system has also been expanded for Early Access. Players start with a small camp and gradually develop it into a functioning frontier town by recruiting non-playable settlers and assigning them daily responsibilities. Farming, gathering resources, crafting equipment and defending the settlement all contribute to the town’s long-term stability. According to the developers, leadership decisions directly affect how well the settlement operates over time.

Character creation will be available when Early Access begins, giving players more control over how they approach the game’s roleplaying systems. Reputation mechanics allow players to take different paths across the frontier, whether that involves acting as a trader, lawman, hunter or outlaw. Choices made during gameplay influence how players are viewed within the world.

Public servers will also be active at launch, supporting PvE as well as a competitive PvP experience between players. Some groups may focus on trade and settlement growth, while others may engage in raids or territorial conflicts. Seasonal challenges and community events are also planned as part of the ongoing Early Access period.
