Abiotic Factor, the Half-Life inspired survival game, is set to release on May 2nd. While there is still some time before the official release, Deep Field Games has launched a new playtest for us to try.
This demo provides access to an early section of the Gate Cascade Research Facility. Although limited to a small portion of the vast open-world game, it encompasses a wide array of key gameplay mechanics, along with numerous improvements and new features not present in earlier playtests.
Dear personnel,

We would like to inform you that there has been a containment breach, and your presence is required at the GATE facility on May 2nd. To undergo basic training, it is advised to participate in the new playtest, now available on Steam.#abioticfactor @ABFGame pic.twitter.com/w7xizOaTuf
One of the new features that was added was a pager. This item can be accessed via the emote radial, which will allow you to ping your location to fellow scientists in case you become lost along the way.
Tired of always carrying that broom stick in your arms to keep the critters away? Now you can holster your weapons by pressing the H key on the keyboard by default. I do say by default because you can change all the key bindings as well.
If you have played some of the earlier playtests, then you will want to try out this demo as well, as they have made some changes and tweaks based on player feedback, along with some new areas to explore, and some new toys to play with.
In the latest Q&A episode, developers have also revealed some interesting details about the game world.
The demo is available from January 25 to February 12, 2024, and you can play it on Steam.
