Deep Field Games revealed new details about the next major update for their office survival game Abiotic Factor. We got a look at the hydro plant and portal locations. In a recent patch, they also addressed the harsh difficulty curve some people were experiencing
The developers have received a lot of feedback regarding the difficulty for solo players. As a result, adjustments have been made to how entities behave when engaging with lone scientists compared to a group of people. Combat should be less challenging if you are alone, even on a cooperative server, as the way enemies spawn around the facility has been adjusted to spawn fewer enemies depending on the amount of players that roam in that area. This new dynamic difficulty should ensure you will never feel too overwhelmed while exploring.

This summer, we can expect the Crush Depth expansion. We got a look at some of the new locations we will be visiting. The hydro dam is the power source for the facility, which is located deep underground in a massive cavern. Along the cliff sides, you will find housing and other buildings for the workers. While they might be high up, getting to these buildings should be easy with the new jetpack coming in the summer update.
Additionally, there will be a new portal opened up in the area below, leading to a snow covered mountain outpost known as the GATE Voussoir Facility. As the description makes clear, this area will be cold, so something that will keep you warm is advised. Besides the cold weather, there will be new dangerous creatures threatening your survival.

In a recent Q&A, it was revealed that the roadmap they posted only covered the major updates. However, we can expect some smaller patches that are content-filled in the meantime. This includes features like the recent tweak to the difficulty and new crafting and building items to play around with.
The developers also mentioned that they are planning to introduce a new feature that was not included in their initial roadmap. At this point, it might be difficult to know what it will be, but if you look at the cover image of this article, you may get an idea.
