Forever Skies is a sci-fi survival game set on a destroyed Earth that initially focused on exploration, scavenging, and building, with no plans to add enemies. To many players’ surprise, the developers added combat mechanics in a recent update, which also expands the game with new locations, creatures, resources, upgrades, and customization options for an airship.
New Dust territories and wild habitat have been introduced to the map. At first, they might look very similar to previous regions, but as you land your airship, you will descend into the smog and have to navigate a dangerous environment on foot with limited visibility. Within the Dust Territories, you can find artifacts that are hidden in vaults or scattered throughout the game world that can be exchanged at artifact trading stations for useful resources and upgrades.
The planet is now truly dangerous 😱

Have you been missing some fighting action in Forever Skies? Then you'd better be ready, as the developers have added combat mechanics and deadly insects that will make you regret your return to Earth.#foreverskies @flyforeverskies pic.twitter.com/cOKHpxQ2Z8
The Underdust: Suburbs are now teeming with deadly creatures like mantis, webling larvae, and larvae nests, so be ready for hostile encounters. In the latest update, the crossbow has received some useful improvements and can be loaded with poison or charged bolts to fight high-health enemies. Charged mines are perfect as traps to bolster your defenses.
Forever Skies offers armor and backpack upgrades, available in three levels. As you explore the world, you will find necessary materials for upgrades and unlock them through your inventory management system. With each upgrade level, your backpack will allow you to carry significantly more items and resources on your expeditions, as the storage space increases.
With this update, you can manage and customize your airship’s interior more efficiently, as you can move storage boxes filled with items around the airship. Furthermore, new retro-futuristic furniture has been added that you can craft and used to decorate your space.
The developers are still working on the co-op feature that should be available with the game’s 1.0 release later this year.
