Are you a fan of horror and thrills? I’m not really, but since my daughter enjoys imposing horror games she sees on YouTube, and especially seeing me jump in fear in front of these games, I had no other choice. Get ready to share my fear and shivers with Abtos Covert, let’s venture into this isolated house where creatures lurk, each more terrifying than the other… (Sounds like a trailer for a series like X files, hahaha).
You play as a slightly freaked-out security guard (yes, it’s normal) who must watch over a house during the night. But beware, the place is far from peaceful… Strange noises echo in the hallways, elusive shadows move in the darkness, and horrible creatures lurk in dark corners. Your mission? Survive until dawn!
Abtos Covert offers a distinctive gaming experience with free exploration of the house, allowing you to move freely between different environments. Your goal in the game is to search the various rooms for useful items such as flashlights, batteries, weapons, and first aid kits. You must also complete missions such as repairing generators, closing doors, and activating traps to hinder creatures trying to reach you. Your constant vigilance and surveillance of the environment are crucial, as creatures can emerge from anywhere, forcing you to be ready to flee or defend yourself at any moment.
The initial iterations are sketchy. Indeed, during the first races and encounters with enemies, you feel a thrill and unease, but after multiple unsuccessful attempts, you have adopted a passive attitude towards them. An important factor for a successful run is luck and good timing, elements that do not contribute to maintaining the atmosphere. The timing and location from which elements appear, combined with the frequency of patrols, determine whether you will last until dawn. There have been times when attacks occurred in such an order that you had no choice but to watch the game on the screen. The need for quick movements becomes more pronounced in the final level, where you must prevent a massive attack from those you encountered in your previous assignment.
The gameplay is simple but effective. Tension builds up as the nights progress, much to the delight of my daughter as she sees me struggle with my fears, ahem, because the creatures become more numerous and aggressive. You’ll have to learn to manage your fear and use your resources intelligently to survive.
The atmosphere of a horror game is essential, and Abtos Covert does not disappoint in this regard. The graphics, although improvable, contribute to creating a dark and oppressive atmosphere. The house is vast and labyrinthine, with dark rooms and unsettling corners. Strange sounds and eerie music contribute to creating palpable tension. You’ll hear creaking doors, footsteps in the dark, squeaks, and frightening whispers.
The overall experience is truly successful and immerses you in one of the most immersive horror universes. You’ll feel like you’re alone in this haunted house, ALOOONE with terrifying creatures stalking you in the shadows.
Abtos Covert is not perfect, it’s true. Its graphics could be more polished, its lifespan a bit longer, and some bugs sometimes disrupt the rhythm. But if you’re looking for an immersive and frightening horror experience, then this game is for you!
Abdos Covert successfully balances challenge and reward, making every completed mission a gratifying accomplishment. Even when there are seemingly no threats around, you just never know what will come at you, as paranoia kicks in and as your heartrate rises to limits you didn’t know were feasible. An interesting and quite chilling surveillance game where you find yourself on a remote outpost in the forest, tasked on protecting the base. It soon becomes apparent from letters you find, and from commentary on the radio from your ranking officer, that previous soldiers have witnessed strange occurrences. Nice progression and replayability, bringing a great spine-chilling experience as a lonely outpost guard. May be short, but it’s fun to play repeatedly. I highly recommend this game. You can be really scared only by the atmosphere of it. It can also be very unpredictable because there is no particular way that characters hunt you. So it requires critical thinking and good understanding of your environment. All of the above are major pluses for me. The game is a bit janky and it definitely shows its indie roots, I also suffered from a tiny bit of lag every now and then that would cause my camera to spin around which was very annoying but overall the experience was a fun time, not incredibly difficult and not stupidly easy but the ending was very abrupt, I think with a lot more work done on this game it could be really good. All in all, the mechanics are simple but well done. The monsters are not too predictable and the strategy is pretty easy to understand. Implementing it is the tricky part. With that said, I feel like they did a good job balancing the difficulty. Ramping it up through the nights at a solid pace. Well done.
Hey guys & girls, Today I will be talking about Abtos Covert, a new horror survival horror game that you are a guard in a remote military outpost at Mount Abtos. Youou’re tasked is to guard it with your life. The only things you can see for now in Abtos Covert is HQ Base house, Bed house, Power room House with old shrine and the forest. If you go too far you will get killed, like I did haha… If you see monster, it’s best to run! That’s why many are afraid of this outpost because of the local folklore stories.
Just want to say Abtos Covert is hard for new players & very difficult game to survive. Reading logs or pages don’t pause the game at all… So you will get a jump scare right after that and get killed.. Also, what’s the point of hiding when the monster will get you anyway… Abtos Covert feel like FNAF with movement. The game has Steam Achievements, which is great!
I love Fun Voice Acting & folklore stories so far.
Abtos Covert is fun but needs more content and updates. Thanks for reading.
