The co-op survival RPG Echoes of Elysium shared new details, outlining what to expect, such as an updated world, new character and airship designs, factions, and the release date.
The game’s environment draws inspiration from Greece, featuring floating islands surrounded by magical wave effects and night skies filled with Greek constellations. The team has implemented a procedural generation system that allows the world to form dynamically, while still maintaining developer control over the placement and combination of areas and landmarks. Players will encounter environmental storytelling through shipwrecks, ruins, and written notes scattered throughout the game.
Character and equipment design reflect the game’s survival and crafting systems. Survivors use scavenged metal parts to create clothing and armor. The game identifies three character archetypes, warriors, pilots, and craftsmen, each with distinct armor types that can be crafted from found materials, such as chainmail made from cogs.
A major addition is the modular airship building system. Ships can be assembled from interchangeable parts, with each component affecting performance statistics such as durability, travel range, and harvesting ability. Ships act as mobile bases that can be damaged, repaired, and used for exploration. According to the development team, this system shifted the game’s overall design focus toward ship-based survival and travel.

The main antagonist, Heron, based on a figure from Greek mythology, creates automatons powered by harvested souls. These enemies release visible souls upon defeat. Heron’s forces also include warships designed with animalistic and myth-inspired features.
Wildlife has been added to the game, including goats, which can be hunted for resources. The development team has also discussed potential post–early access content involving ship mechanics powered by goats, though this feature is not confirmed.
According to the development team, the Early Access version will not represent the game’s final state. There are plans to expand and refine the game’s systems and content throughout its lifecycle. Players can expect ongoing patches and updates addressing bugs and performance issues. The studio also confirmed that additional language support is planned beyond the initial release version to make the game accessible to more players.
Up to six players will be able to work together to gather resources, craft upgrades, engage in combat, and explore a fragmented world above the clouds. Echoes of Elysium is set to launch in Early Access on December 4th, so keep an eye on the horizon.
