The world of Soulmask is going to get bigger. CampFire Studio plans to launch a new expansion set in ancient Egypt in the fourth quarter of 2025, arriving alongside the 1.0 release.
The developers revealed that the DLC, Shifting Sands, adds a brand-new desert world. The newly released trailer for Soulmask’s Shifting Sands shows off a Nile-sized number of goodies for us to explore. Included in this are new outfits, masks, creatures, and powers. There are two new masks, one modeled after Horus and the other after Anubis, giving players each unique new powers and abilities, even including the ability to raise the dead and fly.
Everything the developers have released and shown so far has been a carefully planned progression focused on survival, tribe management, and exploration. Part of that exploration will be finding new floating lands in the sky, like inverted pyramids or barges. The lands, and even dungeons, will hold challenges for players, including new enemies.

Speaking of barges, floating bases can be built on these platforms, allowing you to create your own flying palace. This should give players a new dimension to explore and build around, and even engage in fights with evolving battle mechanics that redefine the whole gameplay experience. There will also be new technologies to unlock, and with the previously announced changes to resource gathering, things around the village are set to take off. One of those new technologies will be anti-gravity engines, giving your Solar Barge lift and setting you and your crew on its way.
It looks like the Shifting Sands expansion adds a whole new dimension to explore, which has me eager to jump back into Soulmask as soon as the game leaves early access.
