Ark: Survival Ascended Announces Release Date for New Greek-Inspired Map

Embark on an adventure in a vast mythical world.

Modder Nekatus is well known for the Fjordur and Svartalfheim maps, which introduce Nordic mythological elements into the primal world of Ark: Survival Ascended. He’s been working on Astraeos, a new ancient Greek-inspired world set to be released on October 10th, 2024.

Astraeos is a huge realm that spans 264 km², almost double the size of Fjordur’s 140 km², and includes ancient Greek ruins and temples, mysterious caves, Sakura biomes, mountains, and vast oceans. According to the creator, about 20 percent of the map will be completed and playable on release.

This new map includes A trireme ship companion mod, allowing you to build and customize a trireme ship, a large warship with three banks of oars, used by civilizations like the Greeks and Romans. A trireme will not take damage after colliding with rocks or land while traversing the oceans – good news for those who, like me, are not masters of ship navigation and often get lost.

With the trireme, you can explore distant lands, raid coastal villages, and engage in naval battles, as the ship may also be equipped with various weapons to attack others or defend yourself effectively at sea.

Nekatus has shared some details about the enemies. You will need to defeat Greek mythologically inspired bosses to unlock powerful and rare rewards. Alpha dino variants will be stronger versions of dinosaurs with valuable loot. The map will also have minibosses, which can be found hidden deep within dangerous caves.

On October 10th, a free version of Astraeos will be launched, with a full version to follow later in the year. The free version includes the Korinthos Area, one boss, and three caves. The premium version is expected to cost $15 and will grant access to all areas, three bosses, minibosses, and many more caves.
