Astroneer: a chill creative take on space survival
    7
    • Pros
    • Unique resource management
    • Creative base building
    • Fully deformable terrain
    • Relaxing gameplay loop
    • Cons
    • Repetitive late game
    • Lack of narrative direction

Astroneer is one of the most unique space exploration games I’ve played, with a super satisfying resource management system that feels both chill and strategic. Instead of menus and stats, everything is physically connected through tethers, platforms and cables, which makes your base feel alive. The terrain deformation tool is insanely fun, letting you sculpt the world however you want while hunting for resources. It’s a rare kind of game that feels creative, peaceful and genuinely different from the usual survival grind.

What if I wanted to mine a planet?

    • Pros
    • Great visual Style
    • Fun gameplay loop
    • Challenging late game (in a good way)
    • Fun automation
    • Cons
    • Can be unforgiving in the early games
    • You are going to spend a lot of time redesigning your base

Astroneer is a love project that is filled with a lot of grief for the developers. But Through the grief, they gave us a really fun and unique game to work with. You explore a planet and harvest the resources you find. With each discovery, you expand your knowledge on technology and seek travel in the stars to different planets, each with its own biomes and resources to gather. Setting up multiple bases for automation on each planet as you travel deep into the core to find the secret of it all.

Astroneer is a great game to kill A LOT of time (Seriously, hours will disappear without notice) and a fun journey. If you like automation and fun visuals, this game is for you!

    lets terraform in fun :)
    8
    • Pros
    • colorful visual style
    • Fun co-op play
    • Creative freedom to terraform planets
    • Relaxing gameplay, low-stress survival
    • Satisfying base-building mechanics
    • Cons
    • Resource grind can get repetitive
    • Lack of a narrative focus
    • Progression can feel a bit flat

A really colorful sandbox adventure that knows how to grab your attention right away ! The game throws you onto a vibrant alien planet, with nothing but your wits and a trusty terrain tool to shape the world around you. It’s a chill, exploration-heavy experience that encourages creativity and experimentation. Digging tunnels, sculpting mountains, and building bases feel oddly satisfying, like playing with a cosmic version of Play-Doh. You can tell the developers put a lot of love into making the world feel alive and interactive.

One of the most enjoyable parts of Astroneer is the co-op. Exploring strange planets and building elaborate bases with friends? That’s the sweet spot right there! The teamwork aspect adds a layer of fun that’s hard to replicate solo. It’s not just about surviving but thriving as a team in this whimsical universe, and the game doesn’t punish you too harshly for mistakes, which keeps the vibe relaxed and laid-back.

However, while Astroneer is a joy to play, resource management can feel a little tedious after a while, especially when you’re scavenging for the same materials over and over. Progression is satisfying at first, but it can plateau, leaving you wondering what big challenge is left to tackle. The game thrives on exploration and creativity, but if you’re looking for a deep narrative or intense survival mechanics, you might be disappointed.

The art style is worth mentioning too : simple but gorgeous 🙂 The colorful planets, unique biomes, and dynamic lighting make every corner of the game visually stunning. It’s a candy for the eyes that never gets old, even after hours of digging and crafting.

At its core, Astroneer is about freedom and imagination. It’s not perfect, but the charm, creativity, and cooperative fun make up for its flaws. Whether you’re carving tunnels or launching yourself into space, it’s an experience that sticks with you, and you will come back times to times because its a wonderfull place to spend time ^^

    • Pros
    • Wonderful worlds
    • Crafting system
    • Oxygen system
    • Different kind of style
    • Keeps getting updated
    • Cons
    • Some bugs
    • A bit repetitive
    • A bit grindy
    • Some materials are hard to find

I started playing Astroneer thanks to my friend. I used to play games like this, but I had never heard of Astroneer. My friend praised this game a lot, so I bought it.

The game is kind of like Minecraft, the controls are easy. It has a story but it doesn’t seem to have one. There are 7 planets in the game: Atrox, Callidor, Sylva, Desolo, Novus, Vesania and Glacio. Each planet has different materials. We start on the planet Sylva and our goal (without spoilers) is to collect a few items and take them somewhere. While doing this, we fill the materials into the bag on our backs with the vacuum in our hands. In this process, we try not to run out of oxygen. Of course, there are ways to replenish oxygen. At the same time, we are improving our backpack, strengthening the vacuum, adding new features to the vacuum, building cars, traveling the planets with those cars and trying to find the necessary materials, while excellent worlds welcome us.

The atmosphere of the game is very relaxing, you can play with your friends and chat with them. Meanwhile, you can expand your base and fly to other planets.

The materials we collect in the game are usually made up of elements, and the fact that they are elements that everyone knows adds a special beauty to the game.

As the game progresses, it gets a little repetitive, so it can get boring, but when you get closer to the end, very different things happen. So the game can keep you for hours. When I first started, I quit early, but on my second or third attempt, I couldn’t get up until late at night.

If we look at the technical part, it is possible to get 60 and above fps in the game even with a simple graphics card. So you can be comfortable. The graphics in the game are already simple compared to other games. But don’t let this put you off the game, after all, graphics are not everything. You may encounter 1-2 bugs during the game, if you are stuck, vacuum the place where you are stuck and you get rid of it immediately.

    • Sandbox with freedom
    • Lots of content

Astroneer is about exploration at the center with other aspects like gathering/managing resources, crafting, exploring on various planets with base building. It’s the chill, no combat, after work relaxing type game. It’s a fun game, but its replayability is definitely very specific to gaming style. Give a chance to one of the best survival, chilling and exploration experiences.

    Chillin in Space: Astroneer
    10

After replaying my cute interstellar adventure in Astroneer after such long time, I decided to tell you something about this a chill cosmic survival sandbox.

To start, the visuals are out of this world (pun intended). I don’t know about you but I love low-poly art style and I think it gives everything a charming, almost toy-like appearance. Planets, space, and weird alien landscapes it’s like exploring a galactic playground. To me, it feels like No man’s sky and Toy story had a baby.

Now, the gameplay is really relaxing and smooth. Terraforming planets, building bases, and flying around in your little space pod – it’s a really chill space adventure without the stress. Astroneer keeps it simple, making it a game where creativity and curiosity take the helm and I think that is their biggest advantage.

But if all this did not interest you in the game, how about this Astroneer is the coop multiplayer game. Get some buddies form a team and become a crew of interstellar buddies on a cosmic adventure. The shared discovery and the collaborative base-building make it a communal space experience that’s like no other.

To keep it completely honest and not be all praises there are some issues but nothing that will ruin your experience you may need time to get used to the occasional wonky physics. Sometimes your astronaut might decide to slide or roll over the hill, or your rover might get a bit wobbly. But this is more funny than frustrating and can make some hilarious moments.

In a nutshell, Astroneer is like a chill and relaxing space adventure. It’s got the cute low poly visuals, the easygoing gameplay, and the awesome coop exploration. If you like a space adventure that feels more like a cosmic stroll than an interstellar war, this game is perfect for you. So go ahead and give it a try.

Do you want to venture into space and discover new materials and build things/factory a place to live in? This game provides players with the “No Man Sky” experience once again! You can even build and destroy with dynamite and many more. Playing with friends makes the game even more fun.
