Pugstorm has released the most extensive update to Core Keeper, a mining survival game. The Desert of Beginnings update comes with new biomes, bosses, weapons, and go-karts.
New Biomes
The Desert of Beginnings is the next major biome to explore where you can find ancient structures and artifacts dating back hundreds of thousands of years ago.
The desert is home to multiple new enemies. The assassin cavelings, these guys have two different attacks, they throw knives toward the player if they are at a distance but when you are closing in they switch to a dash attack. Giant ladybugs will rush the player and when dealing enough damage they explode destroying everything around them.
It would not be a new biome without a new titan to defeat. Ra-Akar the sand titan can be summoned with the “Thumper”, an item crafted at the ancient hologram pod. Upon defeating this boss you have a chance of obtaining parts of the scarab armor set which has a unique thors ability to damage enemies when they hit you.
In the Desert of Beginnings, you will be able to find a sub-biome named the Molten Quarry. This place is home to the new lava slime and butterflies and is very dangerous to explore. With magma all over the place, you have to watch your steps for not to catch fire. You will be able to find a new mini-boss in this volcanic location. Igneous the Molten Mass is similar to the first giant slime boss you fight but this one will set the floor on fire making it a lot more dangerous. In both biomes, there are a plethora of new decorative items to find like desert rocks, trees, coal pits, and more.

Crafting and Karting
A big new feature in the Desert of Beginnings update is the addition of go-karts. These make traversing the caves a lot faster being the first on land vehicle. If you fancy a race however there are abandoned race tracks the player can find in the desert.
Galaxite ore is the new main resource found in this new update. It allows you to craft stronger tools, armor, and weapons.
For those who wanted to catch bugs, you are in luck as you can now craft a bug net and catch the old as well as 12 new critters. Once caught you can place them down in the world and they will no longer despawn.
New traps have been added to defend your base. The galaxite trap can be placed on the floor and will ignite enemies when they walk over it. The turret will shoot enemies who walk in front of it but it does require electricity in order to function.
When digging in any biome you have a chance of finding a locked chest, these can be opened with a key that you can find in various chests and containers. Once you get access to scarlet ore, you will be able to craft a key crafting table where you can make them yourself.
These are the major features the Desert of Beginnings update brought to Core Keeper.
